I loved the book too and read it again quite regularly. There are video versions that cut out the side stories. Absolutely agree that it’s ready for an update and those actors would be an excellent choice. In fact school president has a few similarities. One of my favorite scenes is where Captain is dancing with Ann Nohs nanny while they’re cooking. Have you read the chapters that weren’t translated ?
