I must have quite an unpopular opinion because I'm really enjoying this one. It feels like I'm reading a book.
not sure how this counts as "unpopular" because I totally agree. There are many elements I like about this, and I actually appreciate the slower pace - it lets things unfold.
Excellent first episode. So long as it doesn't get too melodramatic (looking at Chocolate) this could be a really beautiful and relaxing watch. Executed well, stories that explore death can be just as much a celebration of life.
Though I'm not really sure I care. I usually love these genres, but this one is kind of... boring. I'll probably…
I prefer dramas with minimal/no romance. This is not the issue. I think the problem is that I have seen many dramas with similar concepts, and this time the execution is not too great.
The most obvious question that they should be asking, is not "Who is Big Mouse?" but "If Chang Ho is not, why…

Because they are not asking this question, something is fishy.
It's a bit slow and dark until the fourth episode too. I think it will remain the same till the last episode.…
I'm really enjoying it. It's slow, but that's because it really takes the time to lay the groundwork. A lot of the scenes are quiet, but very creepy. I am no expert, but I personally think the directing is really good.
He is such a boring, uncompelling antagonist. It feels like he always plays the same character. The best antagonists are the ones with the charisma to make you morbidly fascinated, and he lacks it. I can never bring myself to care either way about his characters. This is why I make this statement.
thought about dropping this but will give it another chance even tho im scared it dissapointes me
It's currently my favourite airing drama. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, and I know a lot of people initially dropped it due the the fl's absolutely cold behaviour in the first few eps. But she's shaping up to be one of the most complex and even compelling, flawed female leads I have ever seen in a kdrama, delivered through the writing and brilliant acting.
The ml is nice, and his backstory is explained, though his character is nowhere near as complex, it's still plenty to make me root for him. I know a lot of people also dropped because of a prospective "student-teacher" relationship but really, both leads are fully consenting adults, the usual imbalance of power doesn't even feel present (ml keeps catching the fl off-guard by seeing straight through her haha) and it hasn't really progressed too fast at all - I half expect that by the time they sort out their feelings, they'll no longer be student and teacher anyway.
And finally, they chose a brilliant actor for the main antagonist.
Almost halfway through, and it hasn't dropped the ball once. There's plenty of dramas letting me down at the moment, but I don't expect this to be one of them.
Is this shaping up to be the best korean drama of all time?
No, honestly I don't think there is a "best of all time" ... because "best" depends on everyone's individual tastes. Certainly though, it is currently my favourite airing drama.
im 50/50 between jayden and yoona's dad and her dad only because they mentioned he had some sort of heart surgery
Also you'd think a heart transplant patient would look after their health. Jayden took a dangerous amount of drugs. I would be extremely surprised if it was him. Actually I would have so much disbelief that if he was the one with the heart I'd have to stop watching. It's just not plausible.
Though I could just be reacting out of my personal experience as someone with bad health.
First two episodes are almost painful. 3&4 are better though not great. 5&6 were pretty engaging. It's definitely had a slow start, but may shape up to be quite fun.
Personally, I think a lot of the issues are with the directing (idk, I don't like some of the camera angles, and the music choices and such for some scenes) and maybe the writing could have been little better (though I tend to hold off judgment of such things until a story is complete). Just so far, it feels a bit lacklustre, like a passive sentence. The content has some protentional, just the delivery could be more concise and engaging.
I still think this is worth giving a chance for the cast (Shin Sung Rok can deliver such enthralling performances!) and the genres are something I'm a fan of so...
I think it could go either way, and only time will tell.
Because they are not asking this question, something is fishy.
Woo Shin, the writer, his clothes are generally looser, more casual, and more likely to be brown or warmer tones.
Sure, they are very similar, but they also give off a different vibe.

My bets are on Yoo Na's father.
