I think a lot of people are hating on the show becaise they don't understand how ancient China worked.
The man was always right and whatever he did was right. The woman had to take concubines for her husband of her own volition and if she didn't, she was regarded as jealous and evil. If her husband didn't have a son, it was her problem and her crime. If her husband dies, she is forbidden to remarry, but if she dies the husband can remarry within a few months. Most females are never let out of their houses until they marry or go out with their mother's for a celebration and even then, she is being put on display for other women to decide if they want her for their sons.
If her husband dies mysteriously, yhen they were jinxes and out to death.
And the men were raised to think women were playthings for them so that's how they treat women. They never once think that they are at fault. They could divorce o woman on the basis that she did not give him a son. They expect the women to use her dowry to further their ambitions and provide for the family but the woman cannot take something from his family to give to her maternal family.
And the women in the imperial harem had it a lot worse. Their livelihood depended on whether the king liked them or not or whether they had a son who the king liked or even had a son or whether they came from an affluent family.
Servants in the palace could bully concubines who came from poor homes and all by stealing her resources and not obeying her.
Women had no say even in their marriages.
Understanding this will help people understand the way the drama works. Don't use modern standards to judge the series. This drama is one of the most accurate historical drama's I've ever watched and makes sense.

I think you don't understand how reincarnation works in Chinese folklore. It is the soul that gets reincarnated.…
Tip: In Chinese folklore, each soul gets reincarnated 8 times but no one knows when and where. So it could be possible that this is the 2nd time their soul has reincarnated or their 6th time. You never know. It could also be possible that they have reincarnated before but never crossed paths. But in this particular lifetime, they crossed paths and since their soul has been in love with each other before, it's easier to fall in love again. It could also possibly be their last lifetime that's why they are able to meet. To have closure from their first lifetime.
(Reincarnation is censored in Chinese dramas a lot for good reason and not just beacuse it's confusing to a lot of people )

If anyone is thinking of watching this one first Forever and Ever don't you have to watch One and Only first it…
I didn't watch FAE but i understood this drama all the same. I just out it in my mind that in their previous lifetime they both died unfairly so their souls meet again in this lifetime and that was it. Also I've learned a lot about how reincarnation works in Chinese folklore so it was easier for me to accept it

I think I asked this before and maybe it was answered but still confused.... at the end of One and Only Shiyi's…
I think you don't understand how reincarnation works in Chinese folklore. It is the soul that gets reincarnated. They don't necessarily have to reicarnate into the same family as not the body reincarnate but the soul. But here ZhouSheng Chen was reincarnated into the Zhou Family in this life time. And accroding to Chinese folklore, when you reach the underworld you drink a soup that makes you forget your past life so that is why he has no recollection of his past life. All that matters is that the ZhouSheng Chen from OAO has been reborn but it was his soul that was reborn. He has the same soul but he is also different from who he was in his past life. He looks like General ZhouSheng Chen from OAO becomes that is what his soul looks like. He could have been born in a family surnamed Gu but he would have still looked the same. Same goes for Shi Yi. She and her siblings could be born to different people in this lifetime because it's not their bodies that are reborn but their souls.
ZhouSheng Chen was lucky to have been born into the same family as before but Shi Yi was born into a different family. One thing that will help you understand the whole reincarnation thing is to remember that it is their souls that is reborn not their bodies. So they could well end up in different families, and with different families, different personalities. I hope you understand

I will try...don't know all answers...1. ZSC's mother was not accepted in the family. The father and mother actually…
ZhouSheng Ren's father is the 2nd Yncle and his mother is fead. She was Tong Jia Ren's older sister that's why the engagement between Tong Jia Ren and ZhouSheng Chen was broken

Baijue has power of fire but they call him Ice cube πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
I think it refers to his personality and it's also ironic 🀣🀣

Alen Fang looks too much like a prebuscent boy to be the ML. Leon Lai looks more like a man that's why i think he fits the ML

I feel like Rikey Wang has a lot of passion in him . Because every kissing scene of his I've watched you can tell he has a lot of unbridled
passion and chemistry. He is one of the best Cdrama kissers I've seen so far. And I like most of his dramas
