Is the run away plot in the novel? I want to know why everyone is mad.😭

In the novel Sang Yan goes and visits his sister. That part is true. But the situation before is different. Yifan is attacked by her uncle, scratches her leg, Mu Cheng does step in and interrupts. Yifan hides it from Sang Yan. Before leaving to see his sister Sang Yan notices the scratch and tells her that he has given her every opportunity to tell him something was wrong and basically how she always hides it.
He goes and sees his sister as planned and the guilt sets in on Yifan. She decides to go to Yihe because she doesn’t want to lose Sang Yan, but Sang Yan never had intentions on leaving her. In fact he was planning on leaving Yihe early to go home to her. She arrived right before he was leaving. So they were able to stay together in Yihe and talked things out and she tells him the truth about her life.
