get past the first 15 min and you will not regret it. Personally, the first 2 eps are my favorite of all once the story starts. That slap gets me every time :-)
Went into this cause I wanted to see what kind of role Yamapi was playing. Surprised he is playing the part of such a sleaze ball. LOL!!! Hope the second season appears before I have forgotten the story so far ....................... 8 ep is barely enough time to get attached to a story IMHO.

Seems its because Okja was a co-produced in multiple countries including SK, so it can be listed with the country as South Korea. The MDL database only has Asian countries. Pachinco appears to only have US as its country of production.

The drama is about enabling predative technology to control events that lead to specific outcomes. The wish app allowed humans to be the mechanisms to control events. The grey area here is little was exposed about what or how the "system" would decide what events. I suspect the original scientist who worked on the project had using it for the good of humanity as a motive. That reverted to Wang Mei Fen perverting the Wish Society and controlling events to lead up to the ML killing his father. Even the death of their friend was a required step to getting him in the position to kill his father.
If it helps, yes, the 20 people from the bus trip 5 years ago were officially pronounced dead and then chipped to become the wisher society.
The ML was mentally on thin ice though-out the show. His faith in humanity barely there and slipping away. When Lu Li did not show up was the last straw for him. This is when the wisher society got ahold of him, impressed him with the hope of the Wish Society THEN triggered his anger for his father and set him on HER path to kill him (which she seems to have planned for a while). He did not kill his father, but his father chose to fall off the cliff on his own.
