do I have to watch this entire thing to understand s2 or can I just start that instead ? Wasn’t a fan of this…
It is best to watch the first. The story does begin after S1 before we find ourselves in 1938. It helps to know who is from when. plus there are many motivations from season 1 it helps to know as well. I rewatched S1 in prep for this one.

We didn't miss the point, is just that the plot was dead and had no character development so whatever. The end!
LOL. You and I clearly watch for different reasons ;P

I haven’t seen the movie yet, but watching many of the comments, my questions was if someone had missed a point.…
Not sure, but yes, they were very off-putting. The posted reviews I related to more. All in all I really enjoyed watching it.

That scene where Seohyun's colleague was using her mom as a s*x doll was disturbing. I'm used to a lot of horrific…
It was product development. the company was having him develop a model to be sold for that propose. The part that weirds me out is how probable that is.

Very surprised at all the comments. It's like the commenters miss the point of science fiction. The themes explored were fresh for me anyway. First off, they are not playing with AI. A manufactured AI that gets consciousness is nothing new. But that is not what this is about. They have repurposed human consciousness. The speculations on this were well presented IMHO. Her family exchanged her consciousness her for her daughters education and housing. The company it was exchanged to has the right to do anything with it forever. indentured servitude of a consciousness forever. Gives me chills.

I still don't know why Eun Sun Woo's mother was killed!!! they didn't explain the reason
Agreed. I do not think they ever reveal what her and the Vice Chairman were arguing over when he push her and she fell, only that JeaHa killed her once he discovered the fall did not kill her to keep the deal he made with his father, who thought he did kill her.

It's just splitting the story because of tvn. Even it happened to Arthdal Chronicles.
I totally agree with all you said. My wish is South Korea Producers would stick to staying self produced and connect with international distributors of their exclusive content. It would keep the story telling and values from being tainted by western culture. THB, I think the world could really use it. I know for sure my heart did. It's been 7 or 8 years since I gave up American TV.

It was those of us that like the 1 season format that made them aware an international audience existed. I cannot say that is why international audiences grew. It was the casting of young pretty boys and an audience of 13 yr old girls combined with the k-pop wave that really made the numbers grow. Now the producers are interested in capitalizing on it, which means buying into the multi-season business model that western producers and investors use to protect investment $$$. If there is no return on the initial investment, the producers cancel the show. Capitalism can really suck.

Grrrrrr..... I am NOT a fan at all. *sigh* guess I will be looking up more info about shows before I start so I do not get surprised like this one. It is also a trend in movies as well. the Witch is an example. so is Alienoid......

If the trend continues it is for the benefit of the investors. What this sets up is an opportunity for investors to cancel production of the 40 plus ep high budget dramas before the story is complete if the market response is not high enough. I fear it will continue to catch on. Oddly I think there are shows that would do well for international audiences but not do well for the audiences of the home country..........

Episode 11 is so good and shows that this drama actually has excellent scriptwriting. The dragon bone part felt…
Wish I could agree with you about great writing. I have known who the real bad guy was since the beginning. Also I have known that they could not bring his father in the fray since the beginning. 1/3 of the way into the show and the story has yet to progress much at all. Unless the entire set up has been to let Zhou get his father killed by another's hand. Even so, 11 eps of very little development has been draggy for me. This entire time I expected them to be looking in the mountains, instead they seem to look for reason to NOT. We shall see if the pace picks up.
