idk what’s worse the fact that it’s a noona drama or the fact that the fl is song hye kyo
FYI, THIS IS NOT A NOONA ROMANCE DRAMA, IT'S A REVENGE/THRILLER DRAMA.. AN ARTICLE ALREADY CONFIRMED THAT THIS DRAMA HAS NO ROMANCE SO STOP MAKING AN ASSUMPTION THAT THIS IS A NOONA DRAMA COS I'M TELLING YOU NOW, IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS!
This drama dropped to 1 % range when it comes to viwership .. how come in Korea This kind of plot is so taboo…
I think most of the time the ratings also depends on the popularity of the cast, the viewers will be more open minded if the cast is popular just like how they supported Doctor Crush, that drama also involves a teacher-student relationship but that drama received high ratings during its broadcast because of the popularity of the cast especially Park Shin Hye, it was well received at that time.. it even won Outstanding Korean Drama in Seoul International Drama Awards. The situation in that drama is much worse than this drama cos the teacher (Kim Rae Won) already likes his student (Park Shin Hye) when she was still a high school student.. they already like each other but her friend/classmate (Lee Sung Kyung) also likes their teacher and because of that they became rival. They fight each other to win their teacher's affection and after the timeskip they became Doctors! Unfortunately, the main leads in this drama Melancholia are not that popular.. Im Soo Jung is a veteran actress but she's not a Hallyu Star while Lee Do Hyun is also an underrated actor. So far, I don't see any problem with the story cos those romantic scenes in episode 4 are necessary cos it's part of the plot to misunderstand their relationship and I also think that it's actually normal for a representative to spend that much time with a teacher, it's not romanticizing teacher-student relationship cos it's only one sided from the male lead and I don't think the teacher has feelings for the student, there's no malice in the teacher's part. She's only close to him cos she feels some connections, Baek Seung Yoo also likes math and he's a math genius just like her father. She only wants to help him to overcome his trauma cos she's afraid that he would become mentally disabled just like her father so she really wants to guide him and there is no malice intended, the problem is the viewers cos they always think about romance when there's still no romance in the story yet.
It's not Lee Do Hyun's fault if the Director keep casting him with older actresses especially if his acting is great and on par with veteran actors despite being a rookie, so far his older female leads are all Best Actress -- Kim Ha Neul (Best Actress in 32nd Blue Dragon Film Awards), Im Soo Jung (Best Actress in 33rd Blue Dragon Film Awards) and possibly Song Hye Kyo (Best Leading Actress in 28th Blue Dragon Film Awards) and not to mention, Lee Do Hyun also won Best New Actor in 57th Baeksang Arts Awards, Best New Actor in 7th APAN Star Awards and Rising Star Actor of the Year in Brand of the Year Awards 2021, the casting director saw his potential that's why he keeps getting paired with these veteran actresses and I'm sure Lee Do Hyun will learn a lot from them.
lmaooooooo just because something is "well received" doesn't make it less weird or problematic. ive never seen…
The fact that they supported Doctor Crush because of the popularity of its cast, that alone only shows that they have no problem with it, they're okay with it despite being problematic as you may said, it was well received, that also proves that they are hypocrites and they only care about popularity, they have no problem with these kind of story as long as the actors are popular, they will support it cos they're biased! And by the way, fyi Hwang In Yeop also received casting offer for the drama Why Oh Soo Jae and that drama is also about teacher/student romantic relationship haha it may seem problematic to you but as usual, because of popularity they are so excited about it, they're anticipating it and no problem at all!
I know I know no problem with age gaps bt when actors chose certain scripts continuisly it is a turn off for me....either…

Just like what you've said they're both amazing actors, I believe there might be something special with the script that made them accept this project and please stop being too biased, I know for sure you will not complain if your favorite is one of the cast, stop being hypocrite. How many times do we have to mention here that there will be a timeskip in the story, y'all are being blinded and suddenly can't read?? They will be reunited as adults (just like in Doctor Crush) to solve the corruption cases and clear Ji Yoon Soo's reputation.
i genuinely find this weird. I dont care if he's a student for only 6 episodes it still erks me
If you have a problem with that then don't watch it, you're just wasting your time hating on it, it's very obvious that some of you just want to convince people to boycott this drama by leaving negative comments (well, we have different opinions) while some of you already want to watch Why Oh Soo Jae for Hwang In Yeop, what a hypocrite?! And it's not like that this kind of relationship doesn't really exist in dramas cos there's already a lot of dramas that depict this kind of relationship between TEAHER AND STUDENT especially in other countries like U.S and Japan
Some of you are complaining cos you don't like Im Soo Jung cos she's not that popular for you and you're not familiar with her, now I get it.. just like what you did to Youth of May cos Go Minsi is not that popular so you were bashing Youth of May cos you want some popular actress to portray Kim Myung Hee, or maybe you just don't like Lee Do Hyun, you're against him that it became a hobby to bash his dramas before airing??!!
Idk.. a highschooler finding some love interest with 900 year old Goblin seems fantastical enough for people to…
It seems repetitive but the main character Baek Seung Yoo will become a 22 year old man in the story.. try to read the other comments before commenting, it's tiresome.. so many complains!! It really seems to me that some of you really want to bash the main leads cos you don't like them cos they're not popular enough for your taste! But then again, if you don't like it don't watch it, just simple as that!
As usual, there's many doubts and complains when it comes to Lee Do Hyun's drama.. after bashing Youth of May with incest comments, here we go again! But I don't care, cos I will support him no matter what cos he's a great actor, I know that he knows what he's doing and I will trust him.
I actually don't mind the age gap, but looking at the synopsis I think that making the main leads as love interests…
It has no romance tag, we still don't know if this drama will have a romance on it. I think it really depends on the flow of the story and the situation if the romance between the main leads would fit the story or not, we still don't know the whole story. There are three timelines in the story and we still don't know if their relationship will be healthy or toxic. In real life, there are many engaged couples who break up and call off their engagement like Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez, Liang Jie and her fiance, I think it really depends on the relationship if they're still happy or not.
So finally the summary of this drama is no longer this one: ""Melancholia" focuses on a terrible sex scandal at…
To be exact, here is the previous summary: “Melancholia” is described as a drama about a terrible scandal that sweeps over a prestigious private high school in Gangnam. The scandal involves a sexual relationship between students and teachers, as well as the corruption that follows.
Based on the character descriptions of the main characters especially Ji Yoon Soo, I don't think that she'll do something bad to her student cos she is a good teacher. They didn't even specify if the main characters are the ones who would be involved in sexual relationship cos there's no "his" in the sentence, it's just "between students and teachers".. it might also indicate that they would tackle that issue in the story but it's not them, I think there's other teacher and student in the story who would be involved in scandal. There's another possibility that they would frame Ji Yoon Soo and Baek Seung Yoo and they would have to clean their names cos of that scandal.
The ending was unsatisfying to say the least. There's no closure whatsoever. They didnt even show present-day…
It may not be that satisfying for some cos there are a lot of deleted/unaired scenes due to its limited runtimes but I guess those scenes will be available on Blu-Ray.
It's so clear to me that Soo Ryun will start liking Hee Tae. Usually, these Second Female Leads without any love…
Your comments are always being negative, from your incest comment to this lol you're obviously a hater. But I know what you're saying it's a Korean Drama so it might actually happen but it's not the first time that a love square happen in Korean Drama.
