Anyone else think in episode 5 that seunghyun was making a bigger deal of the whole cheating thing with his senior…
If you rewatch it, WSH is actually leaving the class and in your words 'moving on', but the senior basically grabbed him to talk. WSH would've probably 'let it go' since he didnt have enough evidence (he just saw the senior looking at his phone). But, it's in his nature to confront injustice when he has enough evidence that injustice occurred. So no, he didn't outright involve himself with this cheating issue, but it was the senior who dragged him to the issue.
Plus come on!!! CHEATING, no matter how small, is cheating!
I feel like a youth drama as the first Korean original was a bad idea for Disney+, especially if they're trying…
If D+ was indeed trying to compete with Netflix, they would've made this drama globally and readily available. At best, this is a high-budget web drama that still feels exclusive.
Not sure if we watched the same ep5-6, but he had many animated moments in these last two episodes. Scenes are…
that's a good point, regarding the "long staring". I dislike that tbqh. Like when characters would just stare at each other and the camera would pan around. we're lucky if some had a voice over. but in some cases, none at all.
So with the ML here, I can see his eyes and facial muscles moving. From what I interpret with his character, he loves to observe and speak up when needs to.
I've seen some comments here that he is stiff or stone-faced, and it makes me wonder if I understand the definitions of those two adjectives... since WSH has been smiling, laughing, scowling, frowning, glaring, etc. If that's a stiff and stone-faced character, then what do you call the Um trainer who has never cracked a smile?! I think people jumped the gun in judging without really watching with discerning eyes.
Now that we're almost halfway through...any favorite character interactions?since I'm bad with names and spelling:Freshmen…
I keep saying it but this drama's charm really lies on the cast's chemistry with each other. Their interactions are always amazing. I'd say I always look forward to the "four stooges" the former roomies. Daeil is just hilarious. His friction with Tak gives me the giggles. I like how Bumju is this little kid following Daeil, but he had moments where his remarks are so funny. And then there's Seunghyun who is sort of Mr. Observer who gives that in-control feel within the group.
Tak better control his anger issues/temperament lol or at least I hope there is a storyline around it. People…
Not sure if we watched the same ep5-6, but he had many animated moments in these last two episodes. Scenes are never filmed sequentially, so indeed you would find some gaps here and there. But if you look at it on an overall perspective, he's actually doing better than expected.
Daeil to kid bully: "What if you become an actor and then your bullying is exposed and the whole drama is cancelled…
This was amazing. That line is worthy of a mic drop! Also I commend the writer/director I guess for that scene. It was loaded with heaviness and lightheartedness at the same time. That's at least some good writing.
I think we're settling in nicely by ep6. It does feel like the drama moves at quite a fast-paced. But, I don't mind it. I'm seeing more of the personalities of the whole gang and the friendship. What's making this drama so charming is definitely chemistry. And ofc we got good ole cliffhanger to keep us on our toes.
"this role shud have been given to someone who would have brought this character to life"He's already giving the…
Yes exactly. I can't see any actor who can prop WSH up with the writing the ML is given. He's given limited space to fully act out his character. Anything more than what he does would be too exaggerated. That's how I see it. I think for this actor, he can be really judged once his character is fleshed out. In another trailer they showed angsty, emotional scenes. This is where we can truly see how Kang Daniel would be able to portray WSH.
Yeah, im going to drop this. I tried, it's boring. The storyline is boring. It's weird I actually like the female…
"this role shud have been given to someone who would have brought this character to life" He's already giving the character enough expressions, when others would've made this character stiff, lifeless. He smiles; he laughs; he even shows angers through his eyes. It's the writing that's amiss. As well, many kdrama viewers are just stuck on that idol-actor stigma, that sometimes even if these idols are doing a good job, their brains refuse to acknowledge it.
I don't know why CSB would be seen as being downgraded here. In fact, her character is getting a lot of focus. In her previous dramas, she's always background to the male lead. Isn't it a nice change of pace for her? Also, there are hints that more to come for the main ML. But oh well, if this doesn't really suit one's taste, it's understandable to just not proceed.
So... self-centred and impulsive?! I mean that's Eunkang right there.
That's how I perceive her character. It may look like she's doing it for the greater good, but at end of the day it's all for her selfish gains. For the record, I don't think that's entirely bad. I just don't think her character is the type to speak out if she's not involved, unlike WSH. but we can agree to disagree.
it's expected bc this is his first acting project while she's a veteran. but lol i think his acting level is the…
Because that's the what the role calls for. Not everything needs to be exaggerated in acting. Watch closely his eyes. His character is the observant type. For someone who's fairly new in acting, he actually can express his emotions through his eyes - because he's a man of few words. Kdrama is so used to big, flowy actions that nuanced acting is often referred to as "stiff". There are different techniques in acting.
Another FL who is unjustly accused, and whom everyone needlessly hates, but what's the point of doing that? lol
Idt it's accurate to say "everyone needlessly hates". Also, the usb/spy cam did fall out of her pocket, so it's also not accurate to say "unjustly", that's why a committee is being set up, so it can be investigated. And what's the point? It's plot device so the two leads can get closer to each other.
