After rewatch ep 14 and the hints are there. My take is Angecho's curse: "Whoever makes my heart stop will die in agony when the waning moon cresent rises. Generation after generation, they will face early deaths that the family will perish." ShinJu is the last direct male descendant of Jang clan and is also Mujin's reincarnation, being the first and last person to receive her curse, so he has to die for the curse to end. Once ShinJu dies then the direct descendants of Jang clan would perish since he is the only child. He did died when his heart stopped and was revived with defibrillator. The waning moon crescent actually appeared when HongJo was in hiding and talking to her landlady (camera shot showed it twice in that scene). ShinJu was supposed to die that night but he didn't (because he already died in the hospital a few nights earlier). So, the curse is broken. ShinJu also confirms curse is broken at end of ep 14 when he meets HongJo in the park and said to her there is no curse, she said he had to die and when he died he saw everything.
