Oh please, we all do dumb things, dumb choices in our lives without it defining us and without being near anything those sisters went through. You can't possibly think that a person who witnessed multiple violent deaths will use her brain, take the time to think things through, act rationally, no, you'll be driven by fear, the anxiety will cloud your mind, adrenaline rush in dangerous situation will make you act impulsively and inevitably you'll make bad decisions, dumb choices.
