This thing was such a huge disappointment, they had everything to make an interesting story, but instead we got the most generic and cliché drama possible. The only reason it has a an 8.0 is because of the Main leads, and even them didn't do the best job in my opinion. Such a waste.
The 4th episode started amazing and then it was meh, we got a random conflict between U jin and Hye Seong out of nowhere, cuz Hye Seong keeps saying that he has to stay away from U jin , only because the plot requires it, just the typical third act breakup cliche.
Literally minutes later is revealed that Hye Seong thought that U jin died in a random accident, so he had no reason to feel guilty at all for causing U Jin's death. But for some reason he keeps with that bs of staying away fI agree, it was kinda, just because the plot required it, is revealed that Hye Seong thought that U jin died in a random accident, so he was not guilty at all for causing U Jin's death. But for some reason he keeps with that bs of staying away from U jin.
It cannot be cuz they are gay since this is the tipical Korean Bl and so far none of the characters have mentioned it.
Some may say that is because Hye Seong is colorblind, but that would a pretty meh explanation, U jin is not Hye Seong's art teacher, he does not even know how to draw, so he wouldn't even care, and from the other side we see that Hye Seong is already an adult and is told that he is doing well at his job. So at least to me, being colorblind wouldn't be a strong reason for him to wanting to stay away so badly from U jin, like he doesn't want to get into a relationship with him cuz he cannot see colours? how is this gonna hurt U jin? and remember this was before he found out that U jin's death was somewhat his fault.

I did not criticize the acting at any point, I was saying that making them highschool students wasn't the best choice, since the actors, at least Shin does not look like a highschool student at all. The acting is good, I love the actors, but again, why a highschool? They setting/ context could've been a college, a company, an art gallery, in which the actors could've had a more appropriate age to how they look, idk late 20s or something. But instead I gotta pretend that these 2 grown ass men on my screen are 18y old (they do it amazing though). I never said I hated the plot, I just feel that choosing time travel for such a short series was probably not the best idea. I don't think there is going to be enough time to develop their relationship in 30 min episodes if they have to also be explaining the consequences of the time travel like they do in episode 2, and also in which timeline will they develop their relationship? If its in the past then Hyeseong is dating a highschool student while he is mentally a working adult, if its in the present then they have to re start what happened in the past and that would need even more screentime which with only 30 min will be hard. It's giving me Love begins in the world of if vibes, if you watched that drama you know what I'm talking about. Don't misunderstand I love this drama and I will keep watching it, I just saying things that I feel off because I waited such a long time for this drama so I might be being a little nitpicking rn 😅
I love the actors and the setting. But the writting is messed up so far, the Lee U Jin character makes no sense, he literally knows Jang Hye Seong for like a day or so, and he is already sugesting that he likes him, playing basketball, saying he likes to hang out with him. I know it is a short drama but like I think we needed an scene where they introduced each other, add each other on social media, etc. Because literally in episode 2 somehow Lee U Jin texts Hye Seong out of nowhere, Where did he get his phone number? Its never shown to us. Hye Seong is alledgy an adult in the present but he behaves pretty much like a kid, he seems pretty chill about going back to the past, he is a fun character so far and his writting feels right. My problen is with Lee U Jin, he feels kinda creppy in my opinion, he has way too much confidence to be 18, and then he follows Hye Seong, not once but three times and is always smiling all the time, I like his smile but like sometimes it feels like he is going to pull out a knife and stab Hye Seong lol. He just does not behave like a normal teenager and he treats Hye Seong like he knows him for a long time, like he literally chooses to stay in the bus and be late to class to just dramatically catch Hye Seong head from falling, to then grab one of his earbuds and listen to his music, that's not something that you do with someone you met yesterday lmao. He doesn't even know anything about Hye Seong, they never sit down to talk Hye Seong passion for art for example. And then they run dramatically with a music that fells like taken out of a commercial, oy yeah and then a car almost kills them, why?..., idk a Breeze of love was way simpler but the all the scenes made sense and felt that they contributed something to the story, I still remember those scenes where they lay down in the equipment room where they meet for the first timr and fall in love with each other or the scene with the ice cube, you feel that they are something more than just friends that play basketball. So far in this drama scenes like that are missing. Also I thought that after dramas like Love in the big city or Ballboys tactis said terms like Gay or Bisexual, I thought some new Korean Bl would also start doing so, but seems that it won't be the case for this one, sadly.
