When I watched New Tales of a Gisaeng, I found the cup/swimming scene fascinating. I wondered how the heck they did that. But when I saw him on Cool Kiz on the Block, I realized that he really can swim with a cup on his forehead. Amazing!
After reading the comments I just can't sign up for 72 episodes... Not with that plot i can barely watch a historical…
The first 20ish episodes are great. Then I found it got draggy, so I put it on-hold. But apparently dramafever cut it down to 36 episodes. I'm going to try that "version", maybe that's an option for you as well? :)
Each episodes is only 30 minutes long, so the drama isn't really that long.
It isn't a drama you would watch in one go, but if you watch every other day maybe 1-3 episodes it does keep your attention and make you want to continue :)
My all-time favourite snack is popcorn because it's super versatile. Sweet or salty, with caramel or with cheese, nuts, chocolate, chili, honey, bacon, cinnamon, butter....*faint mumbling in the distance*.... and of course hot or cold. I love it ;)
Let's see if this version fits my tastes better since I disliked the one with Tik....
UPDATE Ep 10: Wow. Just wow. I know rape is used very lightly in lakorns, but the Nang Eks usually have some kind of immediate reaction....Here they slept CUDDLING!!!! and it was more like "you raped me? oh, well, how mean of you"
There are so many things wrong with this version, especially the lead actress....makes me wish for the one with Tik :( *colossal waste of time*
FINAL EDIT: I regret. From the depths of my heart I regret. Why oh why did I watch this? ;( I hereby solemnly swear to never watch a version of this lakorn again! Amen.
Such a pitty. The drama started great. The first half was a nice sweet summer watch.
But then it went downhill, especially the last 2-3 episodes.
It clearly showed that the drama was cut short. I guess the drama wasn't very successful in Korea?! With the original 16 episodes everything could have developed nicely, but with suddenly only 12 they cramped in as much as they could. Such a waste of a good story.
Feels like "Big" all over again - promising beginning, crappy ending :(
Omg. The "Tomorrow will be better" scene was ingenious! It should be in one line with those big hollywood moments like the stair moment in pretty woman or the opening scene of breakfast at tiffany's. Soo fucking beautiful!
That ending is killing me :(( Not one character survived....At least that's how I would interpret her going to the lake....
But it was a really nice drama. Interesting through it all and you couldn't even try guessing the ending until the very last scene.
It was nice to see a couple for once that always, always, always believed in each other. They never doubted the other person for even a second no matter what was thrown at them. But despite, or maybe because of that the lakorn soon got boring. It was clear very soon who the real cluprit was and how everything would end.
It's a nice watch, but rather for those days you don't have anything better to watch anyways and simply want to relax.
When I watched this in the beginning stages of my drama craze (3 maybe 4? years ago), I didn't really like the drama. I wondered why everyone was praising it so much. Now, rewatching this some years later, I finally understood :) While it's not perfect, it's definitely a nice change to the usual drama.
(And yes, I would have dumped him too with the "1 week" thing - or at least make him work harder for it^^)
is it really great? how is dasom acting in this drama?
I really like the drama so far.
Dasom reminds me of the young Yoon Eun Hye. It feels similar to her in The Vineyard Man - not great (acting wise), a little over-the-top but somehow engaging
