I wouldn’t say it was Rape. I guess it was consented because they needed to. she was poisoned of something and the Bug that detoxifies it died when she tried to kill TTJ with the nails. And every 15th they have to do the deed, and it was Li Susu who begged TTJ to save her so they did the deed because the poison that inhibits her body need to have S*x to survive every 15th. And she went blind because she exchanged her eyes with ones with TTJ who had the magical artefact that dooms the one who has it. He is pretty much a psycho on the Novel but the Drama is nice. There are MLS in other dramas that are worst than him. He is much better with the ML in Goodbye my Princess and other cdramas that I have watched.

I read the novel as well, he was cruel and vengeful to YZW in the Novel so I was happy to read the part where she jumped from the tower and died and the emotions he felt after her death was satisfying. But in this Drama he was more humane and really loved her already. She always had prejudice against him and would always misunderstand him. Like what happened when he killed the Emperor of Sheng and she thought he really was a devil without even knowing the reason. And with the poison, though YBS created a misunderstanding, she tried to put something as well, though not poisonous. Well she did some other stuff where I think she was an idiot. Though I understand it was originally her mission. But still he’s so pitiful.
I am so conflicted. Like I know she has a mission. But her Prejudice against him are just too much. He doesn’t have a lovethread but grew one because he thought she really cares about him and love him as well. I do think she was cruel for taking advantage of someone’s feelings and betrayed that person at the end. It’s too cruel. And right now TTJ isn’t the devil God but she wanted to take his life for something that haven’t happen yet. Like he was really pitiful. No wonder he became the Devil god in the past because of cruel betrayals and circumstances.
After The Starry Love I wasn’t able to move on and found it difficult to find another Drama to watch. Now this one is my new Obsession. Though I don’t find the Male Lead and the Female Lead that attractive at first, they grew on me and now, I find them very pleasing to the eye. I saw LBFAD and I liked it very much because the male lead is cold and ruthless, but mostly ML’s I’ve seen are very powerful from start to end. But this ML seems quite unique. Quite a damsel in distress, blackened because of life‘s experiences. I want all the episodes already!

He didn’t grovel though, it was so easy for them to be together amidst of what he did to her. That’s why it wasn’t satisfying that they were together. I don’t mind if it wasn’t tagged as romance, but it was a romance novel and can’t stomach unfaithfulness though it was normal in that era. Would be fun if they are not in love at all.

More of a sad ending for me. 🙈I feel pity for the girl. I don’t understand how a modern woman fell in love with a Manwh*re who doesn’t have any redeeming qualities. He had it so easy, didn’t even grovel at all for all the things that he did to her. And I guess at the end she was just contented that he loves her though still has concubines. I really can’t imagine.

The novel is kind of different. They are not twins in the novel, Ji Man transmigrated into the body of Sang Yu. And in the Novel, the ML is such a douchebag. ML drama is better and more likeable. The FL in the novel was strong smart at first but went down the drain as the story continues. The ML has many concubines including Wenwan. Wenwan is the one he loves at first. He even had children with his Concubines. What I find so laughable and nonsense is that, Ji Man came from the Modern World, she broke up with her BF because he cheated. And when she transmigrated to the Novel, she seemed confident at first. And she sympathised and feel sad for those women who needed to seek favor from their husband just to survive. But at the end, she fell in love, became one of those women, though he loves her, but he still had concubines and sleeps with them. She came back to the real world but chose to come back where the ML was. But I find the Ml weak there, no backbone at all. He was portrayed as smart in the novel but very dumb when it comes to his concubine. He doesn’t have any redeeming qualities, so i have no idea how the FL fell in love with him, when he did so many terrible things to her. Even as far as lying that their baby is dead, gave it to someone to be taken cared of and after 2 years the baby came back, made the random woman who took care of the baby his concubine. 🥴 what a smart dumbass. He did so many other hateful stuff, would be a Happy End if she didn’t came back or one of then died. He didn’t deserve her.

I guess you find it boring because you already think it’s a repetition of every xiaxia story. Though I agree there is always resemblance of how they make the story especially if one of the leads would either have to sacrifice themselves, have to wait for revival or have sad endings. Love between fairy and devil would have been one of my fav, though I got a culture shock at the end of the story. The ending was quite disappointing. Could have been better. And the female lead, the way she act was kind of awkward. Especially, when she was laughing happily, it’s so unnatural. Though the story was interesting with the swapping.
