i like this drama but i feel like the first part of the main couple getting to know each other dragged on too long. It was at like ep 20 or something like that when the real stuff started amping up. The climax felt very rushed and there was no closure for the other side couples.
Also don't get me wrong tian xi wei is pretty but the drama itself (including all the characters) describe her as extremely beautiful, I can't exactly see it, especially since we have more beautiful side characters like the princess and qian qian. Like sure you can say they are all pretty but we are repeatedly emphasized that chang yu is soooo beautiful that all the men want her and even the king wanted to marry her at one point. Like please, everytime they say that Its so fake.
qi min's obsessive love for qian qian also didn't make too much sense. Its one thing if it was control, but he willingly sacraficed himself? thats pure love. But this is the same guy whose willing to kill his own son, his adoptive mother, and basically everyone. So why is qian qian so special? is it because she's modern? I wish they touched up on the transmigrate thing too
The visuals are unique but i didn't like it was all know insinuating it all took place within what? 3-4 months. So Xie zheng almost died, recovered in like 1 week, almost died again from a battle and recovered the 2nd week. Then stayed 2 weeks with chang yu before dipping to fulfill his royal duties. Like come on realistically it should've taken him the whole series to recover in the first place. Lost you forever did a better job on the emphasize of time and healing.
Overall like 7/10. I think chinese dramas are getting too cliche these days and they do all the makeup the same. chalked white skin, big eyes. We really lsot the uniqueness of each actor/actress beauty.
Also the main character energy is so strong. Everything, everyone, every event, revolves around them.

I don’t get it. Why must Wu Shiguang be the “special” dragon to inherit the dragon powers when his stronger older power can just do that. His existence is kinda meaningless, he’s just taking the power that should’ve went to his chiwen. Also aren’t dragons suppose to be born with powers? If not then the whole concept of dragon being powerful is void if they have to be fighting to get their powers.

The point of Dwelling Narrowness isn’t “cheating is okay.”It’s that economic desperation + family pressure + unequal power can corrode people’s values. Urban poverty isn’t just starvation:it’s constant instability, debt, obligation, and social immobility, especially for young women with no safety net. The show is literally about how narrow her options are.Song Siming is trash. Youre allowed to hate her. I get why people do.But insisting the only valid reading is “she’s garbage cheater, end of discussion” flattens the story so something so black and white. Also your hate for haizao is so intensed i wouldve thought she personally slept with your own husband. Get a grip on your life and look at the people around you. No one is a 2d npc and does something purely because they are born evil. I thought you should know this at your ripe age.

Your argument is so flawed. Poverty drives everything, it can especially effect the moral integrity and it clearly shows that you never experience true poverty as you are still sitting on your moral high horse. Most people steal in 3rd world countries for food. Is it because most people in that country are just evil and have no sense of morality?
Also I don’t know if this has anything to do with patriarchy in your culture but I notice you blame everything on haizao and rarely mentions songsiming’s cheating. Ofcourse the girl cheated is muccch worse and should be absolutely burned because she’s a girl. This kinda mindset is so scary and this is why people barely bat an eye anymore when a husband kills his wife (especially the recent Korean case). But I bet if it’s the roles were switched where haizao is the rich one married and songsiming is the “3rd wheel” you would be rebuking haizao for being a bad unloyal wife. This is so absurd as the in the original novel the moral of the story is that Haiping was the true evil person constantly asking her financially incapable sister for funds she didn’t have driving her to be with song. The moral of the novel was that the people closest to you can hurt you the most. That’s the true deeper meaning. Stop focusing on all the cheating stuff. It’s a drama. It’s fake but it’s realistic. Real people aren’t perfect and I’m sure you aren’t a perfect angel who never sinned. The important thing is to understand your mistakes and cut people like haiping out of your life. I will say haizao is more foolish that she is evil. Girl blindly sacrifices herself to become a side ho for her sister. Dumb girl.

theres a reason this drama is called dwelling narowness. her older sister is basically complaning and always begging her for money which drives her to be with song si ming for money. Also, even the actor who played xiao bei said that if he was hai zao, he would cheat too because its so hard to survive in china's city with the small amount of money they earn. If you go on xiao hong shu or douyin most people agree with hai zao's choice. you probably haven;t experience hai zao and hai ping's level or poverty so that why you get to stand on high ground and judge them.

don't waste your time on this drama like me. If you really want to watch it I recommend watching it so ep 10 and thats it.
But if you like insufferable dumb mc, then watch the whole thing.
