I canāt believe Iām still watching this mess, but I guess part of me just wants to see how much worse it can get.
I skipped all the scenes with the SML and FL, so maybe I missed something (though I doubt it), but that whole trip she took with the SML to visit the orphans felt so random. And the worst part is that Woo Joo wasnāt even with them, even though it was the weekend.
Then, while the FL and SML are together, her coworker suddenly calls just to ask something work-related and casually mentions that the ML is leaving for good. And suddenly her common sense comes back⦠Really? Is that seriously the best the writer could come up with for the script?
I have never seen a K-drama that frustrates me this much. We are already at episode 9 out of 12, and it honestly feels like the SML has become the actual ML. All the sweet moments that are supposed to make our hearts flutter are happening between the FL and the SML instead of the main couple, which makes absolutely no sense.
The cute moments between the ML and FL can literally be counted on one hand. And what makes it even worse is the fact that the ML confessed that he liked the FL at the very beginning of the drama, yet she keeps casually going on dates with the SML like nothing happened.
I honestly have no words for how frustrating this is. I have never rated any K-drama 1/10 before, but Iām actually ready to do it this time. And that small, adorable boy will not be enough to soften my rating⦠The only reason Iām still trying to finish this drama is because of him.
The last two episodes (7ā8) were terrible. I skipped every single scene with the SML. I still donāt understand why a drama that is presented as āOur Universeā needs a love triangle. It was supposed to be a beautiful, warm family story about two very different people with painful pasts raising their siblingsā child together and gradually falling in love.
Instead, what we mostly see is the FL going to work and spending time with the SML, who also happens to be her boss. Itās honestly so frustrating.
I havenāt dropped this drama yet, but Iām really close to doing so.
I've been thinking of watching this one. Do you recommend?I'm currently only watching "Love Next Door" this season…
For me personally, No Gain, No Love is a much better series than Love Next Door. No Gain, No Love is easy to watch. It is possible to laugh, but at the same time sensitive topics are touched, which are not presented in a very heavy format. Meanwhile, Love Next Door is boring in my eyes. It was presented as a romantic comedy, but strayed too far into painful topics. Maybe if I had started watching it as a drama instead of a romantic comedy, my opinion would be different. So if you want a light and easy drama, I definitely recommend No Gain, No Love.
