1) FanXian thought that if hes in danger that the Black Knights would have to roll in hence saving him from the Second Prince (this seems less likely) and beginning a good partnership with Yan. 2) Since hes stabbed, he cant respond to Second Prince demands but he and the mission still has to be escorted to the Capital, where we would find out that hes been stabbed in a non vital position and he and Yan Binguan starts a good friendship/ partnership.
Any novel readers care to share how the mom fell in love with the Emperor? How was he before he became what he is today? He would have had to have been power hungry to get where he was so how was he so good at hiding it from her where she fell in love and married him?
Him having to think about interceding for a woman who almost killed him twice and succeeded in killing his friend just for the sake of hoping to marry someone is the stupidest thing, maybe even more than having to deal with the brother issue. Everytime i start to enjoy the romance part of this show, some idiocy happens to remind me why I never will.

Definitely. The political intrigue is on another level (maybe only NiF is on the same level?). The witty banter…
I love them both but I believe that NiF is my preferred comfort drama. Yes theres a lot of political intrigue and g Heartache but because its about justice/ revenge its also a healing one. I much prefer the slight romance in NiF as I find it a much deeper meaningful one. The friendships are amazing too. Theres sometimes slight comedy with the Meng Zhi (the leader of the army too). I always recommend both dramas so if youve watched one and enjoyed it, I encourage you to get into the other.
Their love is so shallow. Coming with a knife to interrogate him once again threatening to harm herself. The ease at which she wants to self harm still doesnt sit right with me. Your brother killed his "brother", almost killed him. Yall have a lot of the audacity as if death wipes the slate clean.
