You're talking about how the character was written and I talk about how the actor played it. I don’t dislike either main characters, I dislike the cases that are not well written and the way the actor has chosen to play his role. Since we started this conversation, I started to read about the BTS which is usually not something I do and apparently there was a beef between the actors during filming. It may have affected how WXY played.... I don’t know, as I said I didn’t see that much of a problem with the other shows I have seen of him.

I love drama with cases like Strange tales in Tang dynasty and I'm not the biggest fan of romance soooo no the genre isn’t the problem quite the contrary. The fact that he is supposed to be quiet doesn’t mean no emotion ever displayed with some lines badly rendered. I liked some of his others shows but the writting was better and the cast being bigger helped (like the wanted detective). As for the good numbers, it’s easy to understand since it’s a show with Bai Lu. I, too, won’t give bad notes ever because she don’t deserve it and the cinematography was okay.
I'm at episode 23 and it’s not good at all. The writting is laking and unfortunately the ML is a complete miscast as he is unable to show any real emotion making the romance really uneasy. Bai Lu is good but can’t compensate for both problems. I don’t know if it’s worth to watch the last 10 episodes.
