Wow, I just realized lots of c-drama watchers migrated here after POJ
Yeah me too, haha. This is quite an entertaining show, to be honest, none of the Chinese dramas that have aired recently have suited my taste.

Ep. 3 random thoughts.Tianjiarui and Yan'an end game agenda. Nothing else is the truth. Trust.Pretty camera shots…
Yes you are right, I am not a fan or hater of JJY but I don't like her voice which is too cheesy. I am quite interested in this drama because of the chemistry between Joseph and Chen Du Ling

Oh no. So I was going by the order of characters as listed above and I thought Joseph Zheng was the male lead…
I think I understand a little about your opinion. This drama was my first drama that I watched them play the main role. I have never watched Joseph Z as the main role or Ji Ling guy. But I am quite interested in the chemistry between Joseph Z and Chen Du Ling because they seemed disinterested from the start, so I am quite looking forward to it.

Wow they are playing as 19 year olds in the drama? That's a much younger age than I expected. And why is Changyu…
You know in the novel it's even stronger, but in the drama they make Changyu seem more reasonable. If you read the novel, you'd think it's an illogical power. So this drama is good in its depiction

I’m glad they didn’t make her a Mary Sue. She isn’t some genius who happens to be a great fighter. She’s…
You use the word dumb to describe her character, even though for an orphaned village girl, she's one of the best. You say the word dumb isn't that bad? You'd better choose another, more natural word.

Seeing how you think about Changyu, if you hated her from the start, it's natural that you don't understand her character and why she's like that. 🙂

In the novel, Xie Zheng often voices things in his head, so we can understand why he hides his identity. The drama is more from Changyu's perspective.

They both have some serious background baggage. All of it needs to be sported out before they can come together…
Well, this is actually a minor flaw in the drama. In the novel, Sui Yuanqing doesn't even mention it. Just like the blue rope that XZ tied to Changyu, it's also not in the novel. The point is, this drama is a bit less good at hiding identities than the novel.

Actually, you will understand that when you read the novel. I wasn't really bothered because Changyu didn't know that she was a general from the start. After all, you know he's a general because you see him from the audience's perspective. Whereas when you put yourself in Changyu's shoes, it's natural that he doesn't know because who would have thought that his matriarchal husband would be someone he wouldn't even want to marry a princess?

Yeah....I don't know why. I feel like Changyu's Gua Sha scene feels more intimate. The bath up scene made me feel uncomfortable.

I have the same thought as you. I have watched Female General but not finished it. Because I don't really get into the story of a woman trying to be a man. And again, the beginning of the story is a bit bad in my opinion, FL there has become a general but seems very easy to be deceived. I like Changyu who looks innocent and he is strong but still reasonable
