Review of The Blossoming Love
Let't talk about this show.
Story wise, It is a refreshing show wherein the fl is the demon while the ml is the hero. The fl is someone who knows what she want and not afraid to show it whereas the ml in the first few episode are the usual cold saviour of the world.
Now what makes this story unique for me is how the story unfold as the show goes on. There are plot twist after plot twist and the relationship between each character goes crazy. I also love how the ml and fl loved and trusted each other deeply, there is minimal misunderstand between them.
---
Spoiler Example: The ml killing the sfl dad due to being possessed-which in later episode shows that he is possessed by himself who tries to change the past in order to save the fl which set a domino effect.
---
However, what I do found disappointing is how the 10,000 years of waiting is not given a detail story (the novel also didn't dwell on it and that maybe the reason why the show didn't).
Now let's talk about the cast.
There are a lot of great actors/actress in this show which helps in bringing the show to life. The female lead-Mu Xuanling (Sun Zhenni) is acted to perfection, she brings the character to life to the point I sometimes forgot she is acting, she is able to act as a seductress and at the same time a cutie (she is very cute). The male lead-Xie Xuecheng (Zhang Bin) while stiff at first shows a great improvement once he accepted the fact that he loved the fl. Kudos to Wang Duo who played as Nan Xuyue, a natural actor who did a perfect job in bringing his character to life.
Overall I have enjoyed this show a lot, and also kudos to the director and other crew members who help in this show. They managed to turn a classic novel into something unique.
Ps. I really like the difference between the characters in the novel vs the characters in the show; In the novel certain characters were given classic role and all of them have ending except for the main couple whereas in the show, their characters shows depth and they all got the happy ending they deserved
