I know Cao An purpose is supposed to help Di Ren Jie by futhering the plot/helping with hints and clues but her character is too Mary Sue for me. She’s almost like a wall flower and hasn’t really contributed much. Ma Rong would have been a great strong and smart female character but her demeanour and actions is very grating and childlike however she is starting to get less annoying and it looks like they’re giving her another love line now.

oh man 6 episodes in and everyone is dropping like flies, it doesn’t even give me enough time to process everything or feel attached because they cut to the next plot so fast that there’s no impact for me (for the story I get for character development as well as the trauma aspect)
I’m a little confused, in the post war scene when ZY was walking up you see a Tapir demon (I’m assuming other demons as well) attending qionghua. why didn’t mengli and the other demons live there too? I know they have to guard it but couldn’t they take turn/visit still? why did mengli wait 100 years as she has other subordinates that could help run the place

I’ve only seen clips of the new eps but it feels like when ZY asked if they knew ML was a demon it was more in shock/disbelief that they thought he would harm her and didn’t want to let him process it or give him time. Like yes he has been very out spoken about hating demons/wanting to destroy them but he knows ML and has been through a lot for her. I feel they never take the time to understand ZY, he’s definitely a sentimental person even picking up the tea leafs that TH was going to gift him. He silently protects and takes care of them at the expense of his own cultivation, body and health.

I feel like a lot of them forget ML was the reason that he learned the four arts because he instinctively wants to protect her even against XX he used it again. they definitely left hints but also red herring throughout the first couple of episodes to throw people off about Lingsha being wangshu host. hints such as the when TH got stabbed with wangshu and BaiKe said “you got hurt by Wangshu! it can hurt you because it no longer consider you it’s host” and each time when LS/her blood touches wangshu there’s powerful aura/energy (in the cave and the fight with the six poison demon)
