With how some BLs just loose the plot midway,I was hesitant to watch this....but am glad I did. There was nothing cringey about it.It was a well written script and the actors did a good job.
In my case I often prefer bromance because it focuses on telling a good story rather than, like in BL, focus on…
I totally understand your train of thought.... With the recent upsurge of BLs,some companies have taken advantage of that and just produced shitty series.Personally I prefer Japan BL productions(which does not necessarily mean they are all good).I think it's just a shame some good Chinese series get banned due to the tag 'bromance' which leaves you wondering what's the difference between 'friendship' and 'bromance'.
Personally I don't seek out the bromance genre due to the fear of the production inferring there maybe more to it than just the friendship.Hence when it comes to male leads I seek friendship. If one is watching BLs just for the 'steamy' NC scenes and kissing scenes, then their life as BL fan will be short lived.
My reason for suggesting Taiwan was because of the language and culture nuance that won't be misrepresented due to translations.I do hope production houses secure funding to produce quality live adaptations of the Chinese BL novels.I quite enjoyed Oh no,here comes trouble from Taiwan.
My rule of thumb when it comes to the BL genre is to avoid the Chinese ones cause they're really not BL...they lean towards bromance. With that in mind,I hate how I was sucked into watching The Spirealm just because it was trending due to its sensorship,I was curious to see why it was banned, did the actors do more than their predecessors in the 'BL' adaptations? Sadly nothing really warranted it being banned,it was just watered down version of the novel. It fell more into the category of gaming, fantasy and a little bit of horror.I am saddened for those who enjoy such genres but won't get to watch this show because it has a good storyline, good cinematography and the little bit of CGI wasn't bad.The downside is that you'll have to watch butchered subtitles or no subs at all,but with how the storylines unfold you get to know what is happening. All the actors did a good job, hope we get to see their talents in other productions. I am curious though, would someone care to explain to me why can't Taiwan production companies buy rights from the authors of Chinese BL novels and produce and sell the movies or series of the adaptations?
I was scared to watch the series cause of how everybody kept on saying it's a heavy one and a real tear jerker...I guess due to my anticipated fear it wasn't as heavy as I expected.Their love story was great, the palace politics also well delivered but not well wrapped, the King dies without knowing the prince and princess never betrayed him and the concubine gets away with the malicious rumors and the killing of the palace maids. It just sad she never got to tell him about her dream and never got to know his real background.
misunderstand or no misunderstanding what she’s doing is purely treason and unforgivable even though she haven’t…
She is plotting to dethrone the King coz she thinks he lied to her and tricked the people in getting the throne. But in actual sense the king is just trying to protect the people he cares about from her to the prince, that's why he distanced himself that time he told her 'A king does not have friends'.....She has already started her moves by involving the prince,I think she wants the prince on the throne but she does not get is that the Kings uncles and mum would kill him.She got into the revenge plan without seeing the big picture which to me represents how she plays badku with the King, she can never win against him because she does not see the big picture.
I normally avoid commenting on a series before it's over, but I just can't hold myself on this... Episode 8 ended on a high note for me that I really can't wait for episode 9.I am soo giddy wondering what the king would make of the gender reveal coz now he is sure he ain't interested in men, also when he discovers her identity.I am in love with the OST that ends the episode...the week should just come to an end fast.
The producers couldn't care less about the cast's continuity...as long as the character was represented the show must go on.All in all,I am unsure what the goal of the series was to be.Since the show is about Takumi who according to me didn't grow/develop much.Apart from making friends and overcoming his people phobia cause of Gii,his character was still very weak by the 5th instalment. He relies too much on Gii,he is unable to survive without him.Which is actually abit sad since Gi would survive without him despite loving him.Gi had friends, his leadership role in school and the business to take over after to school. Watching it now the hairstyles are just wild.
This was a really good movie on how to handle and overcome trauma.Kai's life was really pitiful and it seems he didn't want the teacher's life to end up like his cause of the trauma he experienced himself.Revealing himself as the perpetrator so that the teacher would overcome his trauma and PTSD was very bold of him.The version I watched didn't give subtitles to what the wife saw on his phone or what was written on the paper that they held everytime they were telling him 'trigger list' but later on I made calculated guess as to what they were. They honestly did not deserve that ending, the teacher really worked on himself that he was mentally and physically strong. Finally accepted his sexuality and was comfortable with it and also could talk about his ordeal with his wife and the feelings he was going through. As for Kai life is just unfair towards him... getting reconnected with the person he genuinely loved only to loose him to the monster in his.
It was not clear to me as to who killed Bunta, was it the kids as reported in the news or Mr.Mamiya(the bad guy)?
Finally got to watch the movie, tragic ending to all three of them. The King loved Hong from their childhood to his death, having him castrated was his jealousy projected. He dint want to share him with anyone else.As for Hong I would say he was definitely in love with both of them...His love for the king stemmed from proximity and being the King's favourite since childhood plus he was never interacting with women. His love for the queen was through discovery,he had never been with a woman so he liked/enjoyed the feeling... but the saddest part is that neither were his choices. He had no option but to fulfill aroyal command. The queen fell for Hong as she was lonely, she had never been with any man as the king had never touched her.
Accidentally started rewatching it coz I couldn't remember I had already watched it.. anyways i did finish rewatching it.Rewatching it had me questioning why didn't they show us how the matchmaker's four pillars and the princess would be if paired up...they would have at least given us the viewers a glimpse of what could be their future. It is not one of those movies that leave an impression but a good light movie to just watch. It wasn't about the ministers with political schemes or a prince fighting for the throne.Just a daddy's girl who happens to fall in love and the dad letting her daughter live the life she wants.
I feel the chemistry is one way....the Soga Hisashi character feels somewhat off.Main lead is doing the most, his character comes out not forced.I am just watching it coz the episodes arent that long....not that impressionable.
Can someone please help me out. Do they have powers or something and what is this stuff about enigmas? I haven’t…
I would recommend googling terms related to omegaverse coz it's a whole world.... Begin with what is an Alpha,Beta and enigma then you would have a better understanding of this world.
