IF INTERESTED IN KOREAN CUISINE IT'S FOR YOU.

The show was aesthetically pleasing....it had stellar cast, both main and supporting casts.Fair warning to someone planning to watch it with the expectations of it being a good old fashion sageuk...well its not.Indeed it has the palace politics, but its not that intriguing. This drama focuses on the food then the romance is secondary and lastly palace/throne politics.I believe it started on a high note then midway it hit a plateau and just maintained it, neither going up or down.I am a person who watches a drama as the episodes drop,so with this drama i watched the last 3 episodes together cause i had no tension build up as the episodes dropped.I survived a whole week without watching episode 10.So with it ending i just wanted to know how it ends but wasn't really pressed about the ending...its an easy watch. Also those who had thoughts that it resembled Mr. Queen were never heard of after the episodes aired because it was WAAAAY different to it.The only resemblance was the chef character going back in time, other than that Mr.Queen remains different.

Its not for the mature audience.

I believe those who are excited about this drama are of a young age group cause i am at episode 17 and i don't know what we are working towards.I am just pushing through the drama to see where the story line takes me.I am a girls girl but the female lead in this one is just a let down for me, apart from being with the guy does she not have aspirations for her own life, her character is abit too much for me...For starters, she left China for the guy... refused to go to Canada to further her studies for the guy, staying in Thailand for the guy. Then she goes further and asks the guy what she should study after she has finished her language course. In all honestly why does her life have to revolve around a guy who has a plan/s surrounding his life despite some of them being dangerous. The guy is book smart were it not for extenuating circumstances he would have gone to college, now we get to see him being street smart....he has his own garage while helping out at the restaurant and on a mission to bring down a smuggling syndicate. We clearly see he has a life and has been managing well without her in his life.Enters female lead with her nonsensical worries...hope he is not selling drugs!! Who is that person he is meeting? Why is he doing underground fighting? Why is he street racing? Sees a suspicious person the 'brother' met starts following him. What is wrong with this lady...Let us not forget she had the brains to say she can take care of him is he agrees to go back with her in China to their old house. She hasn't finished her studies, does not have a career neither have we seen her interest in any money making activity. Her only redeeming aspects is that she is a really good driver and i like her outfits, other than that her cute...naive persona does not add value to the male main character, she is too meddlesome for his own good....ooh yeah, even his friends have become her friends🤦🏽‍♀️

A drag for no good reason.

Without being to curt, the drama is really dragging its audience along for no good reason. The many flashbacks aren't really necessary because from episode one its established they became good friends through their love of photography.Certain flashbacks mid-series do not add anything to the plot because we already see they have their own bubble even their own friends recognized, the flashback of Wataru on a date being dumped showed us the audience they had other people but in the end it was just the two of them. But its an 11 episode drama and we are at episode 6,and so far we've got Wataru insisting from the first episode 'they are just friends' while they clearly are not,yet Minato has been steadfast about his feelings toward him and even confessed.Despite seemingly little progress being end at the end of episode 6, preview of episode 7 hints to us viewers there is regression in the relationship.Honestly at this point Wataru is a problem for me,him being stuck in the past and and being angry towards Minato chosing a profession not related to photography and dismissing Minato's romantic feelings and being insistent on him leaving... Understandably, he might be afraid they might not work out as a couple and loose their friendship entirely but seriously he should COMMUNICATE to Minato because he seems he would anything and everything for their friendship/relationship.

Don't watch with BL or Bromance expectations

This drama is not getting the attention it deserves or rather people are somewhat underrating it and i believe its due to its cast being young talent. It is a good watch where the male lead is indeed inlove with his girlfriend's personality/soul or whatever you would consider being inlove with who a person is deep down.Yoon Jae's feelings do not change despite his girlfriend turning into a man he hopes and believes his girlfriend will return to her 'normal self'.I believe the casting was deliberate because Yoon Jae n Ji Hoon(male version of gf) have more chemistry with each other than Yoon Jae and Ji Eun(actual gf).The lady playing the girlfriend tends to be forgettable as she does not have much screentime apart from the flashback and the few moments she changes back to being a woman.Ji Hoon has great chemistry with everyone in her social circles, from the bestfriend to the parents. So he really stands out in his character, even when fighting the love rival. The love rival is somewhat too much because Yoon Jae has clearly expressed he is not interested in her but she totally ignores him and is forcing herself on him too much.Giving this series a chance is not a bad idea.

Could give more.

As with most KBLs because of shortness of the series some aspects of the drama tend to progress too fast for the storyline and at times as the audience we just accept it because we understand they work with a limited budget. The story is alright but i feel there is no chemistry between the leads, the one playing U Jin looks good and is delivering his lines with ease plus we see early on he is smitten by the character Hye Seong. While there is something about the actor who plays Hye seong thats just not sitting right with me.I don't know if its how he constantly gazes down whether he is thinking, flustered or having a conversation he does not have a wide range of emotions with his facial. He seems rigid playing the character but It might also be the hair style he has both in the future and past.We see a clear distinction in the guy playing Tae Jun his haircut definitely shows how he is different in the past and future.

Left yearning for more.

This was a good movie that deserves a sequel, because the 2 hour plus minutes was not enough to wrap up everything near and tight. The action scenes were superb, apart from the mission of figuring and capturing Shadow.I got lost as to what the robbers were upto after breaking into the command center.First things first,it was great to see the veterans in it and carrying their weight and owning their characters.Despite mentions of their history a sequel showing the past would really give depth to their characters. How Jackie was an ace during his time and lost his partner then watched the family behind the shadows. Also the past of Shadow and how he moulded his adoptive sons.
Personally i did not like her character, granted she was being looked down upon because she was a woman and had to prove her self but we never got to see her happy.I did not understand why we were shown she was heartbroken when the guy died all the while it seemed like it was a one-sided crush, and it was the guy who had a crush on her.
The robbery crew need also screen time of how they were trained by Shadow.
Last and not least the post credit scene does indeed give hopes to a sequel.

Upgrade neighborhood watch.

Something about this drama reminds me of Seoul Busters.Came across a reel of the scene of the supermarket hostage situation and i decided to watch it.They are upgrade of the neighborhood watch, solving cases in their neighborhood smartly. They never rashly tried to handle the cases but approached the situation with caution. When the women band together they are a force to reckon with and a menace to their opponents. There are certain comedic moments just had me doing a rewind especially the marriage of the ex policewoman and her cop husband.I think they did the minimart lady dirty by giving her older character a really old husband....By the time of writing this review there are rumors of a second season, hope they don't drop the ball on it.

That town should just be named Hopeless.

This was great movie that everyone did live up to the title, each and every single person in that town was hopeless...even the guys in power.I fell in love again with Song Joong Ki, despite him being a leader in the gang,he had a soft spot for the young kid and really wanted to help him.I liked his character. The young actor indeed deserved the award for Best New actor he portrayed his character very well, strong yet fragile. He was not a bad kid but the circumstances around him were just not letting him win even an inch. Also why wasn't him mum ever on his side? That was just sad.The chain of events that led him in killing the one adult who had his back was indeed sad.The one who was suspected of tampering with his bike was not culprit yet got punished...the one who did tamper with the bike was in his own hell. Despite their bickering the step-sister cared for him deeply glad they left that town together.I would definitely rewatch it.

More like a curse not a superhero.

This is that one drama i would have prefered to stumble upon it without watching its trailer because i feel it fell short of my anticipation. It lacked a kick to its ending and that might be a script problem. The cast did an amazing job in bringing their characters to life. You liked the hero and hated the villains.Although i felt the main character did not have chemistry with the wife, considering we just watched him in Typhoon Family with Minha and they had insane chemistry....here there was none considering the narrative he was crazy about her. While writing this review I understand why some humans with powers sold theirs. From the ones we know, these had to be the worst kind of powers bestowed upon anyone, main character's power was driving him to brokenness, and if he opted not to use them he developed a skin disease.Another had to be an alcoholic to use his powers...the telekinesis chic just had to up her calories to use her powers.Honestly if Mundane group was not crude in their methods of hunting the humans with powers i believe many would have willingly sold their powers at a good price....the only problem was Mundane replicating the powers and selling them.

Good fight scenes.

This drama was made for the male audience who enjoy good fighting action scenes, from boxing to taekwondo fights. As for the females we get to enjoy seeing the abs... although some deaths were abit gory for me but i had to watch season 2 to know what happens to the boys. There were certain dialogues that felt flat but still got through them. One can watch this season as a standalone but certain characters have been reprised from season 1 and had good stories and it would be a shame not knowing their storylines.I believe they went all in in this season because season 1 ended somewhat mired with scandal outside the series...Rain did an amazing job in being a villain here,he does prove himself in being an actor. With the Seo Joon and Dex appearing,it does give the impression there will be a season 3.

CUTE LOVE STORY YOU'LL FALL IN LOVE WITH.

I wish i could have my memory of this drama erased so i get to watch it again and indulge in it.Its been a while since i watched a Thai bl and enjoyed it immensely. This drama had me searching for the novel to read because i loved the story and wanted to know what happens next.Teetee and Por have done an amazing job with this series and one can see they are comfortable with each other and are serious with their roles.Honestly Duang's character is not that cringey as one would expect...plus he is just quirky to the people around him and comfortable with who he is.

Its just does not hit home.

I had purposed to write a review to this movie but there was no excitement in the movie and so the review just took a back burner....The cast was stellar so their performance was not a problem. The story was straight forward so the plot/script was also not the problem...but i just don't understand why it was lucklusture. From start to end the movie maintained a singular tone, and at no certain point was my heart rate high due to an exciting scene. An ironic point that never left me was that despite everything happening in the illegal side of the law, there was no police to take a bribe, doing an investigation or threaten anyone with blackmail or arrest, EVERYONE who appeared on screen should have had some sort of police interaction. To me that's an oversight i couldn't get over with, what do you mean there was not a righteous police or a 'dirty' police to even things out.Finishing the review makes me think maybe the police aspect was the thing missing to keep things tense or thrilling.

Superb Movie.

Having randomly stumbled upon this movie, i really enjoyed watching it and have high regards towards it.The main lead's character showed tremendous growth from a stuttering closeted gay to a courageous person who got on stage and sang wholeheartedly.Initially i was saddened when they could not be a couple but I totally understand Yeong Jeon's character when he told him he was attached to him because he showed him how exciting life could be and got him out of his shy shell,so he really felt that he was special to him.Cheol Jun currently can't see past the new high he is currently going through at the moment. For starters he is not into twinks as he had mentioned he is into Lee Kangin(a footballer)... Secondly he never gave Jeon a second look during the get together date after them having a love shot drink together. From the get go Jeon liked Jun and he was self aware that if he wasn't Jun's initial pick, their relationship might not withstand whatever the future holds. After watching the movie i went on to read other people's review on it and came across this statement 'You never forget the person who broadens your horizon',so Jeon will forever be special in Jun's life.

A waste of time and budget.

I don't know why Yu Bin did this project,he had good ones in the year but this one honestly was crappy...it might be for the paycheck but surely you can't build your brand with stellar performances then decide to close the year with a bad production. It was soo bad despite it being short i had to drop it....i couldn't endure it.It was not worth it.You get the jist of the story but it is just not working out,the colour tones were just off for a moment i thought i stumbled upon an old bl....the dialogue did not make sense. The characters had no chemistry....I don't know why this project was given a go ahead for production.

SWEET BUT SHORT

This was a very sweet and also very short drama. It leaves the audience yearning for more from the new couple. The drama ends just as the characters become a couple.Honestly they should have added an episode of them being in their dating era.We got to see Kano out on a date with the other Ogami laughing and smiling enjoying his time in the other world. It should have been fair to see him enjoying himself with the Ogami he's inlove with.Working together as a couple, going to and from the office and just enjoying their time as couple.
