Yes he chose her for selfish reasons but at the same time fulfilling her greatest desire, Him telling her he is adopted isnt to manipulate her but to show her another perspective. But both of them are frustrating to watch

The nielson rating is a more accurate representation of domestic viewership cause they have a larger sample size. Think about it Buried hearts, Undercover high school, My dearest nemesis, for eagle brothers .all are not on netflix. if these shows were on netflix korea will it have the same ranking. My argument wasnt that this drama has no domestic fanbase but op used the wrong data to prove that this show is popular when in reality its just ok. And compared to Moving and Light shop it was a missed opportunity

Netflix Korea and Viki Us dont represent domestic market. 1.The netflix ranking is for only shows airing on netflix which aint many and most Koreans dont use netflix to watch dramas that air in their own country. and the later literally is american. Domestically its highest rating is 3% nationwide and 2.8 Seoul(AGB Nielson). Which is horrendous for a drama airing on the weekend. Compared to other channel A shows its good because they are mostly bad anyway so its not a good metric. And no changing the director is not to appease international fans cause even domestic fans are not watching. The director and script writer have objectively failed to adapt this story. Lastly this site has a lot of negatively but also its okay to to say i like this show despite its glaring problems. Lastly am not saying this is the worst drama, on its own its an average drama because of the reasons i listed. But as an adaptation it has failed and it further looks bad because the original creators other works in these last 2yrs were blueprints on how to adapt unconventional concepts with excellent directing and scriptwriting

There needs to be a balance between objectivity and subjectivity. When directing and scriptwriting is the primary reason why most people failed to like a show you cant simply put it down to different taste. Also its not a surprise that out of the 3 Kang Full show this is the only one with a rating below 8 and also the only one not written by him

This drama needed a better director and screenwriter. A lot of people were put off by the first 5 episodes cause of the slow pace and thats half the whole drama

I just noticed something even when the drama shifts to the fl pov there is no new information that is vastly different when in the ml pov and the plot also doesnt even progress

True thats why am doubting they can craft a convincing romance cause even the teaser of ep5 shows its more likely that they are not meeting. then the ml has a hurdle of jumping from stranger/stalker to friend then given all her past interactions with men its going to be extra difficult for him to become a love interest. I think it would have worked better if the ml was an online friend or used to write her letters

Maybe a better way to put it is the story is about the ml trying to solve the mystery of his crush even the synopsis reads like that. So yes in a sense the fl is just a plot device and honestly they are not enough episodes left to craft a convincing romance

its like paper towns she is the main character or the main plot piont but the story is from mls point of view
