I think bias from other naive characters plays a huge part but i dont want to sound mean but cdrama writes always such characters annoying especially beacuse they dont use common sense 100% and the high pitched voices dont help. if you compare Ran Ran to other similar character arch types she is actually competent and doesnt need shifu or gege to save her everytime like how she defeated the skeleton snake alone and when subduing madam wu. For me as long the naive childish character can actually defend herself i am okay with it

I think such shows need to be slow to effectively sell the themes they problem with this series is they dont pick the right moments to be slow.
