Just watched the first episode after all the hype this drama is getting on Chinese social media and hot damn this must be THE most intense first episode in a Cdrama I’ve ever seen! Looks like Youku’s White Night Theatre is on a roll this year.
So far I’m really loving this one! Loving all the characters and relationship dynamics, surprisingly I’m actually more invested in their personal lives than the actual investigation itself. Ma Yili is doing a wonderful job, it’s so rare to see well-written female police officers. If the last few episodes hold up I think this could easily become my favourite crime series this year.

On another note has anyone watched the bts for this show, it really makes me appreciate the efforts of the actors even more. Those hot summer days wearing tanks/dresses, swimming in the lake and at night where all shot during the fall. They were all wearing heavy padded jackets in-between takes.

Agreed! I don’t like it that on the surface he stepped down from the case yet is more involved than ever. Setting up a giant trap to coerce a young man to admit to murder.
Really liking this one so far, so different from the norm! Loving the slice-of-life vibe with a nice dash of comedy in a unique setting. Zhang Feng Xia might be the closest I’ve seen to an Asian hippie mom.
Definitely recommend Zhou Yutong’s other drama Remembrance of Things Past, which is a beautiful realistic life…
Greatest of all time wise a tough one lol Which genres do you like? Sorry I don’t really watch rom coms, the thing is most romcoms are idol dramas and some people love them, others hate them, I mostly avoid them. The most popular ones I’ve seen were Hidden Love, When I fly towards you and You’re My Glory.

Definitely recommend Zhou Yutong’s other drama Remembrance of Things Past, which is a beautiful realistic life drama about those who moved away from their hometowns to make it in the big city. It’ll take you on a roller coaster of emotions.
Li Xian’s other drama Meet Yourself is also a must. The first episode will be like a stab in the heart but after that it’s a beautiful healing drama about a city woman who embarks on a eat, pray, love journey after the loss of her best friend.
Go Ahead is another great one about two fathers raising 3 kids. We follow the kids from their childhood into adulthood. It’s got a bit of everything and quite possibly the best dad in drama land.
