I'm sorry to ask here, i know this series is part of light on series.. there's so many, come some people suggest…
My favourites are The Bad Kids, The Long Night and Thirteen Years of Dust. If you want something really different Why Try to Change Me now is a very memorable one, Gold Panning is also different from the rest.
Okay, obviously this could only end with everyone either dead or in jail but deep down I wanted Lie Bai to get…
Ya definitely agree it was an overkill, I feel that even if LB didn’t get caught for his crimes he was already punished- the guilt and trauma he carried for the past decade, the burden of being labeled a killer’s son and his inability to form deep relationships with others are all punishing enough. I don’t think any of the characters were bad people. Episodes 20-23 was a whole lot of filler, character driven yes but did we really need to have 3 whole episodes of nothing. The end was super rushed, I wish they spent more time on the conviction of LB or even how the other characters reacted and felt.
I find this guy the most unbelievable thing in this drama, we know he went to jail for something but why does…
It does make more sense after watching ep 16 but like you said he essentially left the poor child on his own. That’s why I can’t buy into his character or motive - he keeps saying his life doesn’t mean anything and that he refuse to let this child grow up known as a killer’s son yet he’s going around doing just that and even worse. The child has no family left and is left with what seems like a nanny for a few days. What?
I find this guy the most unbelievable thing in this drama, we know he went to jail for something but why does he seem like some kind of retired special forces. He evaded the police not once but twice, can build a bomb, no problem killing or kidnapping others, super cool under pressure. I’m just not really buying his character or his motives for doing what he is doing.
I'm thinking about to watch this drama, but I'm not sure yet.Can someone please let me know, what this drama is…
In short this drama follows the journey of those living in an impoverished village and all the struggles and hardships the villagers dealt with as they resettled in Minning Town located in a very bare and hostile environment. The drama looks at all the different challenges this town has gone through the decades.
Probably sounds boring subject wise but it’s a super well-made drama with lots of heart and soul. Wonderful actors that really brought all the characters to life, made me laugh and cry along with them and root for them to succeed and thrive.
First case will be from ep 1 - 5, nice closure but leading to bigger things eventually, and the second case starts…
Okay I’m a little confused was the first case officially closed? I must have missed the final verdict or what happened to Di Lun, an official is dead or missing but no mentions of it?
Okay why do I find this odd pair of husband and wife really cute, I have to admit in the first 3 episodes I found the pairing mismatched and weird but in the latest episodes their chemistry actually really seems to work and I can totally see how they complement each other. The whole family dynamic is also really adorable as well.
anyone care to explain to me what problem li jia is having with her family? i'm watching the drama from youtube…
I’m on episode 19 now, so from what I gather Li Jia’s family were originally from Shanghai but her parents moved to another province and have their residency there but they want their children aka their son to come back to Shanghai since they managed to get him residency there. That would mean her brother would need to live with Li Jia’s aunt in Shanghai. Li Jia is worried about her brother being bullied by her aunt’s family. Her aunt and uncle also don’t really welcome them because of the house.
I want to but hesitating cause i saw on tik tok that this zhuang chaoying is annoying a not a good father along…
I’m still early in the show around ep 10 and my gosh I’m about to roll my eyes to the ceiling every time ZCY’s parents come on the screen or even the mention of their names. Wish I could reach through the screen and slap them all for Huang Ling. Glad to hear their dynamic gets better.
This is the type of drama that I would describe alike boiling water, the build up is slow and meticulous, all…
I don’t exactly remember where the story is at episode 6 but from memory there should be a turning point very soon, the direction of the story becomes much clearer as it dives into Shen Mo’s story and that’s also the point where the story starts to get very dark. So I would say definitely stick it out for the rest of the episodes because everything will start to come together and the 3 timelines will also start to make sense. The ending is probably the most beautiful thing about this drama.
I'm reading all these comments about how slow paced it is but jeez, I'm on episode 6 watching it on 1.5x speed…
This is the type of drama that I would describe alike boiling water, the build up is slow and meticulous, all planned out for that water to reach boiling point.
To fully appreciate this drama you really need to pay attention to everything, this director is a master at his craft and every shot, every conversation plays a part in building the story so it really isn’t a story you should skip or fast forward. If you’re looking for a quick thrill or quick pay-off then this really isn’t the drama for you.
At episode 18 now.It felt a little too dramatic, seeing everyone crying and all. Also, Ms Zhang just talked about…
The gravity of the situation is probably lost on the international audience. Gaokao is very much like life and death for these students especially these girls, many won’t have the privilege for a second chance, this will literally determine the course of their lives. The difference between working in factories, being married off and living a life of servitude to having a chance to change not only their own lives but also that of their entire family. It is a VERY big deal so the pressure is through the roof for these girls who are only teenagers. Zhang loves these girls and of course no one wants to see their children in so much stress but she knows the only way they can have a better future is through getting into Uni.
I’m not as familiar with the Chinese system but I’ve heard of the Korean system, they literally halt airplanes and have police escorts to schools, it just goes to show how extremely important the university examination are. These students study day and night, tens of hours everyday for four years just for this one shot so it’s understandable many crumble and mental breakdowns happen like the mass crying session you see in that scene. It is heartbreaking to see what these students have to go through but that’s how the system works in many parts of Asia.
