Just Absolute Cinema
I’m going to keep this short so people who are hesitant to watch this can just read this review. First of all, the plot is so well thought of. From the beginning to the end, it will keep you hooked and will genuinely make you want to pull an all nighter to see what’s next. Second, the love between the leads needed to be studied. They would go through hell and back for each other and is willing to sacrifice their entire life if they had too. If you like aloof characters who are secretly the best man ever, you need to watch this. The female lead is also very vocal, strong and honest. Her cuteness is not exaggerated but makes you happy when you see her smile. Acting by everyone was good, none of them made me cringe and I’m thankful for that. Overall, the best master/disciple story I’ve watched and will definitely rewatch it again. 10/10 peak romance.Was this review helpful to you?

Tyrant ML and a Crazy FL = Perfect Combo
Wow, I was actually pretty surprised at how much I enjoyed this drama.Things I enjoyed from this drama:
1. FL’s cuteness. Me personally, cute fl’s can only work if they’re able to make it look ‘natural’ and for this actress, I feel like being cute runs in her blood. I wasn’t cringed out even the slightest, matter of fact, I was also awe-ing alongside the ML lmao.
2. FL’s determination to either get killed, or start mass murdering her entire ‘family’ while her man just watch her threatening everyone with a smile. Lives up to his tyrant name lol he could not care less about anyone else besides his woman and I respect that fr.
3. Antagonists punishment. The antagonist stood no chance from the beginning. Since the ML can read minds, he knew who was scheming and who wasn’t. The moment he set his eyes on the FL, everyone else became pieces of chess. Whether they live or die, thats up to the FL. He may owns the chess board but his woman was the one controlling the pieces.
4. Costume and makeup. Specifically the ML. He looked so good even with strands of grey hair. Whoever did his makeup needs a raise. The FL makeup and outfits were all so cute too, they didn’t look low budget at all.
5. NO GREEN TEA CONCUBINES WE CHEERED! When the fl came to the palace, they were all trying to poison her but later they found out she’s just an innocent girl *cough* and kind. Though, only one concubine was close with her, the rest wasn’t shown after the poison gift giving scene that was funny btw.
6. ML comedic timing and sassy acting. This man doesn’t have to try lol he might be the most prettiest and sassies tyrant I know and I love every second of it.
Things that could’ve been fixed:
1. Logic… holes? Idk plot holes? Though this is common in historical short dramas I still need to comment on it. He’s an emperor but 97% of the time, he was with her. He goes to (i forgot what its called but its where the ministries gather to discuss political stuff and present it to the emperor) like twice lol. Since he’s the emperor, I kinda assumed that he won’t be around as much but he was basically glued to her 24/7. Though I don’t necessarily dislike it bcs they were cute together, I still hoped there was an explanation to it.
2. Variety of characters. It is a very straightforward drama with no kidnappings or deadly poison or even aphrodisiac drugging (surprise surprise I couldn’t believe my eyes as well) but because of this I wish there were more characters that stands out. The main characters definitely carried the drama while the rest did their roles nicely but it was kinda meh.
3. Length of the drama. This drama has potential to be really good if they just make it longer. This is the type of drama where you wish it was longer to see the chemistry blossom more. Personally I think chemistry was good, though It was mostly ML doing the work because FL is busy being a murderous goofball.
In conclusion, give this drama a shot. I was pleasantly surprise and hopefully, you’ll be too.

The ML acting was so freakin good! Plot was cute!
This was my first time seeing this male actor and all I can say was that he definitely carried this drama. This is my first time writing a vertical cdrama review and THAT is saying something. The fl, I’m more familiar with her and I do think her acting was decent. The storyline is very cute and straightforward, don’t you just love when a man likes you so much that he’s willing to chase you everyday. The ML was funny, a little childish but in a cute way, and protective! Also, VERY flirty to the FL and FL only! I paused so many times because the way the ML acts around the FL kept making me giggle lol he has the best personality. A total simp— more specifically, a LOYAL simp. He was charming and very likeable. Kudos to the actor, he can definitely make it big if he keeps up with the good work.OKAY OKAY now to review the ACTUAL story. All the characters were fine, the side characters acting are all pretty decent, including the male friends of the ML. I love brother’s friend plot, so I didn’t really find the plot that new or odd. For me, the age gap is fine. I don’t necessarily find it weird but at the same time, I wish he didn’t like her at first sight when she’s like a high school student lol. Don’t worry tho, he only started to pursue her after she entered college. They didn’t really focus much on the family, mostly just to them which i personally enjoy hehe. The step brother, well, is a bit questionable but also I don’t really get what’s going on in his head most of the time. Overall, it was a good watch and will definitely rewatch it again!

First of all, the message in this drama was phenomenal. As someone who’s suffering depression, I like how the ml approach the fl. Of course trust me it’ll look weird as heck when u first watch their first meet cause he said some weird things but i promise you, he’s more than just that. At first i thought this was one of those really weird student/teacher drama but honestly im glad I watched this. The leads are not only funny as hell and great at delivery their lines, they also teach us to see depression and loneliness in a different point of view. The best part of this drama was the leads. They are HILARIOUS but also so sweet. I’m telling u their humour are top tier and considering that this drama revolves around suic*de makes this drama 100x better. I feel like this drama can cure depression lmao. But on a serious not, I understand if ur concern about the plot and the genre but im telling you, this short drama might just be one of the best out there. Whoever casted these two leads are just geniuses and the script are all just so brilliant. For the hopeless romantics, there ARE sweet giggles scenes. The ml is so cute im telling you he ate his role up. If you want to know any negative thing about this drama is that IT NEEDS A SEASON 2 or at least them getting married or something.
