Sorry I didn't think Chinese Republican dramas are actually on high interest so I only put top 5 of them. Here…
I don’t know anything about the stories MRIAD will be based on. They just released the news about it yesterday so I think we’ll have to be patient to know more. As for CoM I haven’t watched it yet and didn’t look at any spoilers about the end so I can’t tell you either
Watch My Roommate Is A Detective. It's my favorite cdrama ever and I promise you won't regret it :)
Before watching MRIAD I only saw HYT in A Love So Beautiful and Go Go Squid where his character is quite… silent. It’s really different in MRIAD. I was super invested emotionally and months later I’m still obsessed

OMG I was super excited all day about the news of MRIAD 2!!! Although a bit disappointed that Xiao Yan won’t be there too. But just having HYT and ZYL in a republican era drama again!! Based on Poirot stories!! I can’t wait *_* MRIAD is my favorite drama ever and I just want to have the same feelings I had the first time. I’m also desperately waiting for See You Again. As you said, HYT looks good in Republican Era suits! I’m planning to watch Couple of Mirrors soon. Have you seen it?
Go ahead is so overhyped lol. It was good in the beginning then it frustrated me in the middle. The two dad almost…
I haven't watch Go Ahead but in cdramas the girl often calls the guy brother (or big brother "gege"). It's nothing with considering the other one as a brother/ a sister. It's just cultural. In asia in general, when you talk with a friend who is older than you, you will can him/ her "big brother/sister" . You don't just call them by their name. It's like the oppa/hyung/eonni/noona from kdramas.
I admit I watched more popular cdramas than high rated ones, and I sometimes regretted it since some popular cdramas are overrated for me. Anyway, thanks for making a special part about the republican era cdramas? Since I watched My Roommate Is A Detective I fell in love with that period and I'm planning to watch more cdramas about this time
Have you seen Someday Or One Day ? It's from the same production as this one and definitely one of my favorite drama ever ! Alice Ko is the female lead. The songs are amazing too and the story is incredible !
You really should watch it! It’s super funny and feel good. The experiences they’re having can be really touching and seeing their friendship grow is super cute too. Also Jasper is so clueless most of the time my heart just melted
Darren 🤩🤩🤩 Glad I know most of the actors or at least one of their projects. They are so many other underrated Taiwanese actors! I always fall for the Taiwanese actor of the cast anyway.. so I would mention a few: Marcus Chang (must see in Lost Romance), Simon Lien (Lost Romance too), Lee Hong Qi (I love him in Go Go Squid 1 and Love You Forever), Fu Meng Bo (who was in The Sleuth Of Ming Dynasty with Darren Chen), Greg Hsu (from Someday Or One Day, my favorite Taiwanese drama)
Most dramas does show the characters gluttonously eating and still staying slim as ever. Lucky them!
Hotpot is super good, and not very expensive. And it’s healthy since you have lot of vegetables and cook them in a broth. That’s my favorite meal and I don’t mind eating this a few times a week.
How did you learn Chinese? Any tips, tricks, or/and steps? I never knew where to start. Tia.
It’s a google chrome extension. And when you’re on Netflix and activate it you can have the subtitles in the program’s original language (so Chinese for example), and the subs in the language you understand (English, French, whatever). For languages like Chinese and Korean you can even have the pinyin/romanization.

I totally agree with Psychedelic Dreamer. Have you tried Language Learning With Netflix ? Also try to find texts in Chinese and put dots next to the characters you don’t know. Then look for their meaning and write it in a note book. Study your notes regularly and every few weeks read the text again, then erase the dots for the characters you now remember. I started studying Chinese with the Hello Chinese app. It gives a good base to start. And for pronounciation I like to sing Chinese songs. I find OST’s of my fav cdramas on YouTube with lyrics and then sing them again and again. Sometimes I also study the lyrics to have more vocabulary. Watching Happy Camp without subtitles helped me a lot too. I try to understand the rules of their games by listening carefully first, and observing how their playing I can know if I was right or not. Last thing is not to compare your progress to early. I usually compare my understanding every three or four months.
Why isn't available on sites or other streamings like Viki? Last week there was on Viki a season 2 page but now…
Can we watch it on iQiyi with a VPN? If so, which country do I have to choose? I tried South Korea and can access the page but don't see any video, just the drama's info
