totally understand you, but back then this was the peak show. Over 40mil people watched the first episode can you imagine that?
I think you can’t really compare this show to BL nowadays because this show was loved and will forever stay in our hearts when we watched this in 2020.

Every era has both hits and misses, and comparing dramas across different times doesn’t really work, what resonated then reflected its audience and production style. You can’t really judge a 2015 series by 2025 standards, because the trends, budgets, and audiences were completely different. It’s less about which is “better” and more about understanding why they worked in their own time.

Thai bl/Lakorns are just like that it’s almost like romance kdrama the series is predictable and boring with loong episodes.

Lol fair, but come on if you’ve logged them as watched and even finished episodes, it’s not wild for people to assume you actually watched them. And honestly, every drama era has its own flavor comparing a 2015 lakorn to stuff from the 1900s is like comparing a VHS to Netflix, totally different vibes and standards.
