I was looking for a new historical series to start. I saw this drama among the credits of an actor I saw in another…
My pleasure indeed. Not much is better than someone watching something you adored. I hope you enjoy it every but as much as I did.

This is the one of my favorite drama in Korean. I re-watch it like too many times but still in love. I was so…

Kinda of a Last of the Mohicans, Braveheart feel only set in Joseon Korea. It's a good time. Solid film. It's on Hulu right now. With your time if you like a good adventure film

KONG SHENG!! WOW! This guy is something else. I watched Battle of Changsha and Romance of Our Parents and gave them each 10s!! He directed Nirvana in Fire...I have not watched yet. I have decided to try this one out because it, like Romance of Our Parents is on Netflix. Plus it was a phenomenon in China and critically acclaimed. I have watched 3 episodes and it hasn't quite captivated me just yet, but I can tell why all the acclaim. I will stay with it at least for 10 episodes...maybe 15. I REALLY want to watch it all. I hope I get entranced soon.

Title Reply 1988
How was 1994? Many say it was the weakest, but I love both 1988 and 1997 (1988 being my favorite) so much I am…
1997 was my least favorite. 1994 was like a middle of the road series. It was sorta beginning to head towards the 1988 feeling setup. However, 1994, while having a few great moments, was still NOWHERE as great as the PERFECT 1988. Of the over 100 dramas I've watched so far Reply 1988 is easily the greatest. Only Romance of Our Parents even comes close. Reply 1988 was beyond words.

Bittersweet tears. I had to say good bye to this beautiful storybook journey. I cannot recommend it strong enough, but it likely will only appeal to those who are a little bit advanced in life or have parents who have a beautiful relationship. We are given but one life...love with that life. Love your spouse with all your heart. The silly little things that incense you...meaningless. One day when you wake up in the Autumn of your life you will realize that...will that realization be with regret? It doesn't have to be. If someone young is reading this, please heed these words. Watch this drama and come to realize it as fast as you can. Then you will live a good life rich or poor won't matter. Love is what matters in the end.
On Romance of Our Parents Feb 5, 2018
It is with a heavy heart I start the final episode. I don't want to leave this world...this family...this couple. I want it to go on forever. I don't want it to end. My eyes are already full of tears.
On Romance of Our Parents Feb 4, 2018
This is a gem...a diamond in the rough I think too many people are missing. It comes from the famed director of Nirvana in Fire - Kong Sheng. I recently watched Battle of Changsha and adored it. I gave it a 10. So I looked up other dramas from him. I saw Romance of Our Parents. I love nostalgia and sentimental steeped dramas so I jumped that one and I have been enraptured. I have been lost in this drama. Only one drama might be held in more esteem in my heart and that is Reply 1988. BUT Romance of Our Parents is simply wonderful. It has moved my heart and soul. I am on episode 41 of 44 and I am dreading... DREADING the end of this. I don't want to leave this family and their world. I have lived with them since they met in the mid 1950s to modern day. I have watched their relationship begin to seeing their children grow to now their hair is grey and it is modern day. It really is weighing on my heart. I have learned so much of intimate Chinese social norms and mannerisms in this drama...and I love it. It makes me want to write the director and thank him from the bottom of my heart for this drama. It is that good.

This drama is fascinating. It gives you a glimpse into the inner workings of Chinese family and class standing... At least at the part I'm at episode 9. I'm loving this drama so much.

Yes I'm watching it now and it is beautiful! I just finished Kong Sheng's Battle of Changsha and I gave it a 10.

That is awesome. What do they think of Nirvana Fire?
Thank you. I appreciate you responding. I adored. Battle of Changsha.

Breathtaking and awe inspiring. I have to thank Kong Sheng for directing this masterpiece. This moved me & opened my eyes to a huge bit of history I didn't know...sadly. I will forever see Asia differently now because of watching Battle Of Changsha If I could I would name my daughter Xiuxiu. She stole my heart. I haven't said the last about this drama.
On Battle of Changsha Jan 31, 2018
Finished all episodes in 2 and a half days. I will write more, but this may be my second or third favorite drama ever. It was beyond breathtaking. If could have a daughter I might name her Xiuxiu. She captured my heart in her small role...she was the treasure.
