Wang xing is such a phenomenal actor. In ep 15 When he was trying to tell Xue Li that it wasn’t what it looked like when he was at the brothel investigating, his subtle expressions at her saying “it looks like i misunderstood.” just was everything, especially for a character that seems distant and aloof the subtle expressions really add to his character making him feel even more real. it doesn’t feel like he is acting, that’s what it is supposed to be like but WOW the more I see the shows he is in the more I am blown away by his acting.
STOP THAT OPENING SCENE. The moments that they shared! it’s honestly so refreshing to see that it just wasn’t “love at first sight” but more of the connection they have and how it’s constantly growing. it makes me so happy.
why is the soundtrack so beautiful! 😭 I love the fact that the instrumental music ties so beautifully to the scenes, like in certain times my palms were sweating especially with the music.
LBY is so misunderstood. He might seem "scary" and intimidating, but he is just so adorable and such a great person. Everyone around him is preaching "loyalty" to family, etc but that doesn't mean tolerating their bullshit or how they have wronged you. Also the way he might seem cold when he is interacting with other but honestly so many of them are just wasting his time and are not really getting to the point of what they want to say, or pretending to be kind but in truth they are being coy and vicious. Also the subtle expressions he convey and various scenarios that those around him will kind of miss when not looking carefully. He does his best to show, convey how he cares for CSS and it can seem vastly different than the way the other couples in the show interact but that doesn't lessen his love for CSS. He expresses it different, it doesn't make it wrong and when he is with CSS you see how he kind of is just so different once you start to understand him and his journey. You see all of this as the story progresses. Honestly I relate to him so much, of course CSS also. I'm always told that I seem "intimidating" because I always look angry or the way I interact with people makes me come off as cold and distant. But when people are always hiding what they really want to say and/or have ulterior motive should one just take it?
Even if those around you think otherwise, that it is you that is the cold and mean one? No. Honestly I love how LBY know his values, his morals, what he stands for and doesn't let petty people get on his nerves, he does not bother with what those around him think or his actions. Of course if he is crossed or see injustice he will do something, he will fight for it, he is true to himself and to those he cares.

Can I just say that of course I love LBY but ep 24 has made my love for him even much greater and it still continues to grow. Everyone around CSS has always said, defended her mom when she talks bad about her. They tell her that she should be understanding and that it doesn't come from a malicious place, that its because she loves her and its for her own good. But no one really talks back to her mother or outright defend her in front of everyone and in front of her mom the way LBY did. LBY loves her, sees her for who she really is and did not cower, didn't hesitate to say it. He didn't hide it the way her mom does nor does he look down on CSS. The way he loves her and even when he say her with Lao Yao he did not try to do what those around him did. He respected her decision, he helped her how he could with Lao Yao. Honestly that is what love is, should be. Love is selfless, love is seeing the person you care for safe, happy even if that may not be with you in the picture. He doesn't try to possess her as if she were an object, he doesn't look down at her. Unlike Yuan Shen, maybe YS does that to disguise his interest in CSS but its not cool.
At the same time LBY did not cower from his feelings and ultimately showed them to CSS. He finally expressed them to her in some way. He was/is ready to fight for his love, he is giving it a try and showing her his feelings. Can I say that the expression CSS gave LBY as he declared she was the only one he would ever marry in this life and how he said she was the only one who he wants to walk this life with, walk with him etc... I was just wow. Even at the end of the ep when CSS asks her mom if it was her cousin, would she say the same things. It might have seemed like the previous eps when her mother talks bad, down to CSS but just seeing how she kind of faced it and actually said how it made her feel. How she admitted she had a grudge on her mother her parents and ultimately the different way she interacted with her parents, her mother at the end just shows how much growth CSS has and is continuing to grow.
Just want to apologize if it's not that coherent what I wrote. its just I still haven't gone to sleep and its currently 6am. Of course I stayed up to catch up on the latest episodes
Of course I cry at every episode but I legit sobbed seeing CSS cry when she was saying why she was so unlucky etc. It just hits so hard because all throughout through previous episodes you see her in pain but this feels like the first time where she says it out loud and lets it out. It just hurt to see her hurting. Although I don't dislike Lao Yao, I think he is adorable and their interactions were kind of cute but when it came down to it he never really mustered up the courage. I know that ultimately the engagement was ended but when his mom had suggested him marrying both CSS and HZJ and she asked him what he thought he stuttered to say it in front of everyone and the elders. It wasn't until it was just CSS and him that he said things clearly. In the end would he stand with her with no hesitation, through the dark times, when the world is against you, when everyone perceives you one way. Would he hesitate then too? to stand his ground and go through it all with her, no matter what it was? I hope I'm not being dramatic etc.... its just.... I love this show so much

Yes, they really are. They are so adorable. I'm not going to lie when I saw them interacting a bit in their roles in the long ballad I just kept thinking and hoping that they would work together as main leads in a drama and then I heard the announcement of this drama and was so excited. Its been so amazing so far .
It seems now that I cry watching every episode but can I just say that I am so glad that each episode and just overall they are so balanced. It doesn't feel as if its just the sake for creating dramatic moments or for the sake of just making one feel strong emotions. But it instead is well thought and the reasoning of the things happening. You see how they are part of why the main leads are the way they are. You see the stories of those around them and how that shapes them and also the main leads. I am just in awe and love LLTG overall. Like yes I cry watching every episode in some parts but the balance of the humor and adorable moments etc. makes this drama so wonderful. One minute I'm sobbing and then the next I am laughing so hard. Just the depth to the characters and the story just leaves me in awe. Like you see all these characters and how they all are crucial and interwoven (of course) in the lives of the main leads. My love for this drama, the characters and the story is only growing more and more.
I watched BTS Seasons of life and it does seem that haishi will become empress or something because they show that the people are calling her madam pearl. But then at the same time yang mi also comments that despite says “it’s tormenting throughout the story but if you stick to the end you’ll find sweet love.”
So will the ending be bittersweet? I’m so conflicted but that’s what makes it exciting to watch because I want to see the story develop. Things are going at a good pace and has not dragged and I have not felt bored at all. I’m so excited to keep watching. I wouldn’t be surprised that by the end of next Sunday things will be getting more and more intense.
