Lareina Song was in Novoland Eagle Flag, which I loved, so I was not bothered by the bratty behavior. Her character only saw Leo Wu as a brother, and everyone was telling him they could not be together. The direction in this one was all wrong.
Great list topic! I would add The Story of Ming Lan. Specifically, the scene where eight year old Teresa Liu is running around trying to find a midwife for her mother, a concubine, that is in labor, and dying. I cry like a baby every time I watch it. I would also like to add East of Eden, so good, but a major tear jerker!
This is silly, it happened in 2018, and it is now being resurrected to harm both of their careers. If Seo Ye Ji's behavior was that unprofessional in the past it should have been addressed then. I am not bothered by the text messages, I still stan Seo Yi Ji. Intimacy can be shown without skinship, just watch any drama with Zhang Han in it. The goal as an actor is to show intimacy, passion, and vulnerability without the fake dry kissing anyway. How many dramas have we watched, that we would preferred they leave the kissing out, because it was so fake? Crash Landing did not have a lot of skinship, but the intimacy was of the charts.
Yet, this show is rife with Western centric colonial supremacist themes-we do not have to wonder why.
You said all of that yet you said nothing. This is the second remake of this drama, and in 2021, the creator's decided to continue the browning of the complexion trope; which, by its very nature, is rooted in colonial Western supremacy. All manner of disguise could have been used, silicone face, prosthetic nose, etc., but they did not. The browning of her complexion is juvenile, antiquated, and unimaginative.
