Actually i think it’s the other way , eead that xukai himself picked this drama even though yuzheng didn’t want him to . You can see there is no cast from his company while all his other dramas have actors/actresses from yuzheng company inserted. Xu kai liked the script , plus its not an idol drama and will be on TV, it’s good exposure for him and Yang zi is insanely popular so its a certificated hit.

It’s based on a novel and it depicts the relationship between a mother and daughter and the ml has almost no appearances in the novel. He picked the drama himself it means he liked the script. Please respect his choice .

The fire/detective drama rumor might be true since he said he is cutting his hair for his next drama so it’s definitely modern and this type of firefighter dramas the actors don’t have long hair.
