By chance i came across some of tge clips from this variety show and i enjoy watching Derek Yee straightforward…
I enjoy his commentary as well! He is straightforward without being sarcastic. I’m so glad they invited him for this season

So is this show about acting skills or marketing value???? All the popular kids are S grade and the outdated or…
I agree it’s unfair. The grading at the beginning of the show from the industry professionals/producers were totally unnecessary. The previous season didn’t have grades like that. The 4 directors also said they didn’t like it. So, I believe they are trying to grade base on acting ability now that they are the judges for the remaining episodes. But, that is also subjective of course, considering the way Guo Jingming gave S cards and I personally do not think Myolie Wu’s acting is anything spectacular but they were singing her praises after every performance. I feel the other older actresses are far better at acting than she is

The ranking in the beginning was based on market values, which was why Zhang Mingen was given a B grade (due to his messy scandal). But the directors did promote him to A in a later episode

I’m up to episode 25 and I feel like they’re focusing on all the wrong characters and the story is just boring at this point. I find Benjamin, Priscilla, Raymond, Owen, and Sisley way more interesting than this Infernal Affairs thing they’re trying to do.

Holding hopes that he will appear in the HK broadcast later. Doesn't make sense that they made him film and then…
You’re right. It’s just so messed up. Why ask him to film in the first place? I don’t get it. I really hope the HK broadcast will be different, but I kinda doubt it...

What happened with pakho? and why are his scenes deleted?
People, particularly netizens from mainland China, were upset with what he posted on Instagram in the summer of 2019. I believe he asked his followers to go vote? Well they accused him of supporting the Hong Kong protests. And as a result, TVB cut his scenes in Line Walker 3 and his concerts in China were also cancelled. When they were filming, news reports claimed that his scenes have been significantly reduced, but now that its airing, it seems like they decided to cut him out completely :(
On Line Walker: Bull Fight Oct 14, 2020
I’m so disappointed that Pakho isn’t in this anymore. I knew they were cutting his scenes but I thought he would make an appearance or at the very least be mentioned since he was one of the main characters in the previous season (and the only reason why I loved it so much)! He probably would’ve still been in this if they filmed LW3 after Wonder Women aired in Hong Kong. He received the award for most popular actor for that series, which makes me think TVB is gonna be promoting him again. It’s unfortunate that they were so quick to drop him over an instagram post, same way they treated Ali Lee, the best actress TVB currently has. It’s just sad.

I see that too. It again, sadly reflects the real world. Ladies passed the age of thirty have difficulty getting anything other than mother roles, while men on the other hand are considered being in their prime at that age. Perhaps that is why there are far fewer older male actors competing on the show. They don’t need to be there.

I agree. A show like 演员的品格 would be more suitable for those newer actors who have little to no acting experience.

Though I guess with the way this show is structured, they’ll be fine here too since they’re not being ranked based on how well they act, but rather on potential and market value, which really irks me.

We already know this is how it works in the real world. It would’ve been nice if this show focused on appreciating the good actors and giving them a chance to shine when they’ve been neglected elsewhere, as they are the ones who need this opportunity the most.

I like Guo Jingming and usually agree with his comments but...
He Changxi was absolutely terrible in the scene he did in ep 2. He did not deserve that S card. I’m glad the other participants and directors voiced their opinions on the matter. Guo Jingming’s decision was totally unfair to the actors that were actually good.

Where did you watch the entire series. Viki only has some episodes up.
I watched it on a chinese website. I don’t know about viki, but if you watch on the WeTV app it’s been subbed up to ep 12 for non vip members :)

Finished the drama! I didn’t really enjoy ep 21-23, but I still loved the chemistry between Lin Shen and Zhao Lusi, they made this a great rom-com! I liked it so much that I actually got my lazy self to write a review, I hope it will encourage more people to watch this gem!

I just finished ep 17!
It seems like Li Man is finally giving up! Thank goodness. I don’t think I can stand her much longer. She was really desperate when she asked Lu Jin to bring a towel over for her, even though he already rejected her at the restaurant. But, the fact that Lu Jin doesn’t take her nonsense is one of the reasons I like him. He’s definitely going on my list of favorite characters!

I was worried Lu Jin would continue to allow Li Man and his mother insult Sheng Nan, but thank goodness he didn’t…
True! It was so satisfying to watch that scene. Li Man couldn't even look Lu Jin in the eyes afterward lol

I feel like LJ’s mom wanted to put Sheng Nan “in her place”, so to the speak, since the first time she met her. But, Lu Jin mentioned before that his mother wasn’t born rich and had to work hard for everything she has now, so I don’t understand why she would treat Sheng Nan this way when she was in a similar position in the past? I supposed she wants what’s best for her son, but still, I hate her attitude and how she views other people as being beneath her.

Their tactics are also starting to feel repetitive. Publicly humiliating Sheng Nan is all they ever do. Ugh I hope after what happened in ep 14 they’ll stop, but I doubt it ><

Just finished ep 14! I can’t wait for more!
I was worried Lu Jin would continue to allow Li Man and his mother insult Sheng Nan, but thank goodness he didn’t or else I would’ve dropped my rating for this drama, especially since Sheng Nan didn’t want to go to the dinner in the first place and had told him how uncomfortable she felt the last time she had to cook for his mother. He totally made up for it when he asked Li Man to go cook as well and then proceeded to do it himself. Loved that scene!
