The juxtaposition in 10.1 of Liu being molested by her boss with a scene of Joe being told parents are dropping their sons out of sports for fear of turning gay is just brilliant social commentary. This series is awesome.
oh my fucking god i cannot finish this series. this is literally the worst thing i have ever seen. here comes…
Even after today's episode. Everything Namcha does is just creepy and he acts like a stalker. Regardless if you still like a woman, if she tells you to back-off you back-off. You don't sit there and manipulate every situation to change her mind, and, even worse, you don't follow her around. The last few episodes have Namcha telling Irin "don't ever run away from me again." You know who says that? Abusive and possessive partners. How did the writers not catch that?
New music video out for the series - “Our Way.” All three songs for this series have been amazing. Boy Sompob should just write music for all BL series
So meow met Dermdem when they were little. Which means he's not much younger than Dermdem. (Few years at most).…
Agreed, that plot point seemed to be stretching reasonable belief. Dermdem and Meow happen to live in the same town/city both when they were kids and adults, a little too convenient. I keep seeing people referencing pedophilia for this show and I never once thought that. Since all the animal characters are immature, I chalked it up to them not having same kind of high-stakes cares as the actual humans. Dermdem, Jin, and Evan are portrayed undergoing a lot of stress in their careers, where as Meow, Manni and Faiyen don't really have that. I think that's made them more carefree and immature to things in the real world. Maybe I'm reading too much into that interpretation, but I never read Dermdem's character as a pedophile.
Do you mind sharing because I've stopped watching since ep 8???
Sure, maybe I'm overanalyzing, but here were the main takeaways I got from episode 10. 1) ML manipulates other girl he knows likes him into letting him use her dog to fool FL to let him tag along on her business trip. 2) Old man/client essentially tells FL she's too much and needs to marry a man to temper her down - "oh look you brought one with you, I don't really know anything about him or your history, but he seems like a nice guy." 3) FL's attempts to be innovative and save her family's company are only validated because the ML speaks up for her to client - not the fact that her grandfather is friends with client or that she drove all the way out to see client in the middle of nowhere. 4) Old man/client bargains that he'll agree do the work for FL's company, but only if she agrees to go on a date with ML - you know because client has only known ML all of a few hours and so he must be a good guy.
I've had other problems with this series from the beginning (so much gaslighting), but the backtracking from strong FLs in The Player and War of Flowers seems odd to me. Next week's episodes look better.
Frankly, I have more sympathy for Inn and Jin than I do Namcha and Irin, but it isn't by much. None of these characters are likeable and 8 episodes have not convinced me otherwise.
This show seemed so dragged out of back and forth mudslinging and abuse and then all of a sudden it kicks into high gear this week and collapses in on itself.
