A GREAT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!!!
I know this drama has a lot of plot holes and it's not a perfect drama but the thing I really love about this drama is the character development of the FL and ML . It's true that FL is weak and afraid , but that is how she was brought up by her mother. The problem here doesn't lie with the FL but her mother's mindset she thought that she all the rights on her children just because she give birth to FL's brother and adopted her. As she said, she was a beast tamed not only by beating but also by being fed and loved. Her character development will only start slowly as the episodes progress.I understand the psychology of the female lead. She grew up with an extremely controlling and emotionally manipulative adoptive mother. This type of emotional manipulation and extreme control can cause significant psychological damage, as we see with Xu Qin having obvious depression and suicidal ideation. Even Song Yan picked up on the suicidal ideation.
Yes, I wish that Xu Qin would have stood up to her mother on multiple occasions, but I also understand why she couldn't. Her mother had practically brainwashed her so that she would comply with everything her mother wanted. It is a pretty realistic drama according to me cause many parents still force their child to do the things they don't want and the problem here doesn't lie with the FL but her mindset she thought that she all the rights on her children just because she give birth to her brother and adopted her.
Its worth try and the chemistry is also really good between the MC. THE ACTING IS REALLY WELL DONE
