Let down after a intriguing 1st half
Just disappointed after i was genuinely excited for this adaptation and i was satisfied till the 2nd week but next 2 weeks was just a convulated mess that failed to adapt the book well or improvise it yet wanted to reach a similar conclusion.
The chemistry between characters was well done, infact its just casting/acting/music that impressed me the most here, directing/cinematography was good but nothing new or exciting one will ever see, more so if they consume entertainment of different mediums.
The limited number of episodes they had to work with definitely didn't help the cause of them trying to adapt it perfectly (iirc they didn't even sponsers) but thats where a skilled director and scriptwriter should try and make it work for limited runtime or take bits from the comic and go independent which they failed to do.
In the end only hyeri and su-bin along with maybe hyewon were interesting from this show, but i prefer the flawed and dynamic characters from the comic, who just experience many difficult hurdles but band together in each of their problems plus the development felt natural, obvious but prefer relationship between ja-ye and suelgi in the comic although these two in the drama did give me butterflies.
In the end i just wish how these kind of shows should be given better treatment in pre production planning to incorporate ideas from both the comic and original content, so that its well paced and constructed instead of just trying to make it work with limited resources.
