Ridiculous and hilarious

I tried this watching once and couldn't get through the first episode as I don't like for Zhao Lusi character dresses up especially considering it was in old day. But I gave it second chance as a fan to watch her early drama. The whole acts of contradictions in the femal role changing from doing all she can to survive to risking everything, inconsistency of knowing whats goin to happen in the plot.. if it's not for knowing the story is just supposed to be stupid funny watch, its definitely unbearable to watch. Only for Zhao Lusi I brazed through it and enjoyed the stupidity after few episodes.. but once it brought in some serious plot when HanShuo rescured by Chuchu and plotted to conquer Huayan city it became boring. Good thing they are not pushing it to more than 24 episodes.

If you enjoy this drama for the romcom, I recommend watching A female student arrives at,the imperial college.

Not quite right

I enjoyed the beginning story where FL fights her fate and gets to escape the island, and develops her skills under ML guidance. I also liked how the ML plotted against Cui family so wonderfully, but then it's going downhill after that. I had guessed it from the start that the sworn brother is the bad guy.. he's a successful figure in a dangerous area, isnt it obviously suspicious?

It kills the whole drama that the supposedly scheming ML rushed to find the dragon bandit and fell into the trap.. they didn't even give him a chance to reflect on his mistake and find out how he got fooled. Why did he hire people without any caution in the first place, that's such a big deviation from his character.

I also think this drama elevates female characters and their careers too much. The villain who started off killing anyone who's in her way actually survived the ordeal and became a successful merchant, all thanks to her devoted childhood sweetheart who died for her. Then she suddenly shifted her hatred from ML and FL toher father in law because her man died miserably..

Lastly, the ending is the most disappointing to me. Why not give us a happy ending for the ML????? He's still consumed by the revenge and died for it. Too disappointing!!! I have loved the leads acting and coupling since Long Ballad so I'm very heartbroken that ML had to die from the poison.

Too much twisted betrayal for my liking.

The story was real good for the first half. FL lead was betrayed by her cloeset friend and the prince who was in love with her. This part is completely acceptable. The fact that the story is quite unique for the ML who has bad relationship with his emperor father who is also a cruel ambitious man who doesn’t love his son like a normal person will. The emperor reaped his ending. Episode 27 will be where this plot should stop after ML gets the revenge, and i would have given it 5 stars! Unfortunately, the story turned to evil twist and tragedies.

The point that makes me drop this drama is ML refused to answer his adopted uncle when he requested to help his son, too disappointing! And it turn the whole plot to another twisted cruel betrayal, thats just too much. It would be better ends it there and imagine ML comforted his uncle to not worry about his son, because his mistake was indeed betrayal and part of rebellion but could be forgiven. Now the pitiful Marquess was pushed to the corner and turned villain. And worse, it is inconsistent with his earlier act of choosing to save ML over his son which caused his son to be a physco enemy against his bestfriend. Too disappointing, I'd hate to see what's goin to be the ending !!!

If I continue watching, it will only be for the good quality pictures and to kill time. I will definitely skip alot of parts.

It's allright

Eventhough the series started off with this feeling of copying the story of Ming Lan, I like that it adds lighthearted cute YiXiu and twist of charming brother who's perfect in everything, seriously unreal.

As a political drama it is full of gap and missing logic. How can one young Duke request a title for a girl so easily.. and what's his achievement that he's so highly favoured by the emperor?

The last episode has too much flaws, how can the duke set the firework to explode without Luo family knowing suddenly everone just died and the bride was kidnapped and her family thought she was dead. And its very surprising that her dad who once despised her for being a outofwed love child of her mom then looked so shocked upon her dead that he didnt even respond to his mom fainting? Because of that I thought he's involved in the scheme.. it didnt make sense.

And the part when Lu jia xue used his body to take on the arrow when he's highly skilled in martial art, seriously unnecessary.. the author just wanted him to die.

FL acting is just average and her voice is kinda annoyingly pitchy to me.. but the ML voice on the other hand is so charming it fills the gap. I thin support roles like Yi Yu shows better acting than leads. And i like the merchant born mom who's a very straightforward person too. Her and YiXiu probably are my 2 favourite characters in this drama. Although i dont like the fact that YiXiu easily testified against her birth mother, authors could have made her sturggle more with being filial but meh.... quite disappointing

Charming FL

This drama started with unreasonable plot with miracle of healing of face and ability to change voice into somebody's else. If you can turn a blind eye on that, it only gets better from there.

I like the characters on the series, not just female and male lead, supporting male leads are real male with integrity, including the cute younger cousin regardless the painful life that he's gone through, he doesn't develop into a bitter man, he is such an adorable youth.

The most eligible bachelor is indeed a gentleman, really doesn't disappoint us. It's nice to watch a drama with minimal petty jealous woman and man whose main role in life is to possess the lead.

The story is not bad, very conclusive with a happy ending. One thing I can't get over is why the eldest princess so useless, the FL is second princess and then a stranger but the younger brother was accompanied by her in the war, not eldest princess???

Anyway, I will watch it again just for the good characters.

Cute Love Yang Mi

Love this drama and i can rewatch it again after sometime as it's cute in many ways. Ambitious lawyervand pure hearted genius who's lost self-esteem due to a setback.

There is just one thing disturbing in this series to me , that is Tan Jin Hui, the ex-boyfried. He is the worst man ever. Either it's intentional by director to mke his character this way or they screwed up the story timeline. Tan Jin hui would have still been dating QinShi when her supposingly 2.5 yo son was born. So how could this guy actually didn't straight away know that it is a lie?!!!! In fact the jerk Wang JieSen figured it out before him. So, so wrong! The quirky yet sweet Yang Hua is way way better, he's so cute with his drunk poetry and adoration for Qin Shi ❤️

Spot on the office politics, it's all about whom you know and money you get in! It's hard being a single career women in this society. Both lawyers Qin and Li , very cool 😎 happy ending to our FL n ML but i wished they give better ending to Li as she's also a beautiful character, wish that she'd found her partner..

Cute and entertaining

This fantasy drama is way far from perfect especially with the story line, in fact the whole concept of human -> fairy god -> demigod -> god is complete mess to me. They really could do better with the story and pay more attention to detail.. how Hua Mo can attack Lan Feng at the same time he is present at his daughter wedding.. or how Yanshuang can par with huashu just after she wokeup from comma..

If like me, you can neglect their story flaws then go ahead to watch. What drew me.in in earlier episodes were simply the nice costumes, high quality pictures and good looking characters. I like the leads and their friendship. Ayin is a straightforward girl with a kind heart Gujin who appears as a lazy boy but actually has his reason for it, Hong Yi is simply cute and simple character. Yan Shuang is probably the least compelling to me out of the 4 leads, she is portrayed to be powerful in earlier episodes but turns to be weakest in later episodes..

I personally really enjoyed rewatching the early 10 episodes for Ayin and Gujin, i love how playful Ayin is when she just hatched before she fell for Gujin, also when she returned as Feng Yin she's completely different due to the whole experience and trivulation shes gone through. She gave the vibe of a cold and arrogant princess but still kept a pure heart ❤️
Having said that i am Zhao Lusi fan so i might be biased for her character ;)

Especially love the scenes where Huashu was humiliated in Youming world for manipulating Yuan Qi, and twice made to bow to Feng Yin and reminded of her lower status compared to Feng Yin, serves her right!

Rival but also friend hard to come by

I like the series showing the contrast of characters and also skills of the two FLs. This basically tells me how different people contributes their strength differently even in the same like of profession.

I don’t like the ML who broke up with Du Di , eventually it showsnthat he's never really liked her from.the start, that explains it. But he just compromised for the sake of life, which is quite realistic.

Fiesty smart female lead

Although the acting is very raw, and quality of the story is maybe just average, it is still nice to watch as the scheming malicious woman always fails in all her schemes from quite early in the plot.

What I like is that the series is very light, no frustration over the good characters overly suffering from the evil schemes.

One may say everything goes too well in the FL favour which never happens in real life but since it is unrealistic to start with, I don’t mind at all. In fact, having watched other series with complex plots, this series feels nice for a change 👌

Nothing new

From a gullible lady losing memory became genius doctor. Everything goes right for the main FL afterwards, no win for the bad guy. If you like this kind of easy boring plot, then go for it. It's not a bad thing the bad guy never succeed but it shouldn't go on and on more than 20 episodes.

The cute boy and handsome man kept me watching bit longer but eventually the lack of good story really gets too much to bear.

Overall ok historical drama

I like historical dynasty drama with a mix of palace scheme and fight against other country, ML with great martial skill and FL with brain. This drama started off like that however the story is not well tailored together, it's jumping here and there through FL backlash just bit and pieces..

Will they tell how in the past life from a meek girl to change completely to become a saintess who managed to kill the high and above royal princess ? It was told that she turned against her own country to avenge her husband but when she woke up her first line was "why did you kill me?", not showing even a bit of surprise nor glad that he was alive. Her character is someehat badly written from the start.

Then there's the part where his brother was saved from the river. He was such a weak man who is not disciplined how could he withstand the test of burnt on his chest when he pretended death? Secondly he can't swim to start with, how was he not drawn after he's thrown into the river with bad wound..

Yes its nice to see him alive as he's such a cheerful character but it makes more sense that he's really dead from the torture since the writer wouldn't let him escape the hands of the princess regardless the FL intervention in the second life.

The almighty and scheming royal princess who loves her daughter and spoils her actually lets her daughter marry a nobody just because of a prior agreement? Regardless how her daughter cried to her opposing it. Seriously out of character. She killed the guy's whole family and she wasn't at all suspicious that he is coming for his revenge? Seriously????

Writer please can do better job next time to make characters more consistently please.

Overall, it's still nice to watch alot of actions on this drama. There's the classic family pressure from the matriach and plotting, and FL outsmarted them in the second life, saving her loved ones from the danger.

Good start but too many inconsistency

At the start of the story, in his first apprerance Xia Min the ML is found persuading his uncle to get TK independent and that goal drove him to scheme big until episode 30+ but at the end, which I feel very rushed and broken, Xia Min's mind game result is to support the director of Yinghai and works for him, saying that he was too narrow-minded before. The ending is promoring a public company who is owned by each employee which is a nice concept but the comapny itself was about to be bankrupt and they don't give any solution to that problem, suddenly at the end it's pictured as a company that's making alot of profit and will continue to do so.

FL lead is pictured as a rare talent in cost analysis who is also straightforward and plays no politic. But within such a short time she also develops management skills and brilliant ideas that made the director of Yinghai promote her to be vice director of finance.
However, I'm very disappointed by her turning on her word so quickly just by promise of "big responsibility" from the director, no wonder Wang Yang very angry with the director and her.

This drama really has alot of inconsistency of characters, except for Wang Ming Yu who's a consistent jerk, but despite that the drama didn't give us any scene on his punishment as he still sits on the board til the end..

Too many questions unanswered by the end of the drama.
How's XiaMin going to explain to his uncle about not delivering his promise to get TK independent?

Maria has played such a bully to Hong Mei, i thought she would also rise in her career but instead she was seen to host the director in her house.. That's huge disappointment really. But I'm guessing the message is not everone needs promotion and she's better to stay simple mind and settle with a good suitor?
And Maria at the end was a character with "meat and blood" who chose to do right despite potentially offering her future boss which is out of character.

Overall the drama does show alot of unexpected turn of events but they are really out of sync and quite random and with no explanation so not a good one.

One of the best historical drama

I have to admit taking 4 episodes until the main characters grow up feels too much at first, but it gets so good after that. This is probably the longest drama I ever watched and I don't regret it, I actually wanted more... 70+ episodes and I can watch it again.

I find that it has a balance of dramatic characters in the otherwise tense story of scheming elders and treacherous politics, such as crazy Man Niang who's so pretentious and her initial act in Yu family even makes me laugh. And then there's the concubine who keeps fainting for pity lol

Except for Man Ning being able to steal the boy under his nose, the ML seems to be solid calculative strategist, I wonder just how he didn't watch the kids after rebuking the evil woman, maybe he just didn't expect her to be so evil.

Other than that, it still a drama with bias for the FL and ML being saved by luck / fate multiple times in facing death situations. But I like how consistent the characters are, and they didn't force the romance above all. It also shows how struggling the women in that era against not just gender bias but also legitimate vs concubine born and how Ming Lan used her brain going along with the culture instead of fighting it heads on (except when it involves her mom and grandmother she confronted the enemy plainly). And she did say that she will risk her life for these two, and Gu Ting Ye should be happy to be the third person. I really like this moment as this is when Gu Ting Ye replied her, "How about your future husband?" Turns out he's already aiming for that position back then.

A small disappointment for me is how at the end Mo Lan was still not divorced by the Count even after all her scheming and killing the babies were revealed. And then she found comfort in Shen family welcoming her warmly in the Gu residence.. She better has learnt her lesson then.

Repetitve tricks draggy story

From the beginning of the drama there are loopholes all over the story and cast, which I ignored but after too many repeated tricks involving disguise with same face, that just killed it for me. Overall I watched most of the episodes and feel pity to Fu Chou who's been manipulated his whole life.

Here's what's so broken about this drama *spolier.alert*
ML who had trauma from childhood couldnt touch a girl but.able to touch FL and fell in love instantly. And second ML who's whole life mission is revenge also fell for the same girl in no time. Not to mention both ML gave up everything for her.

Inconsistency of character: Ya Li was such a nice girl who didn't hate the FL in the beginning suddenly became toxic girl who is capable of tricks and disguising as her maid?!!

Same trick of adultery tried on th ML also applied to FL. I couldnt take it anymore skipped to the last 3 episodes just to reach the ending, pretty much could be predicted from episode 20 onwards so why the drag for 48 episodes.

They just have to kill Fuchou and Hanxiang at the end, for what?!!! After so many ridiculous survival of battle and posioning, why not give the pitiful characters some good ending afterall.

And many other reasons I would recommend safe your time, don't watch this drama. I dont understand the high rating given to this drama.
