I know there is probably only one similarity but the plot made me think of Sunshine Cleaning with Amy Adams, which was probably one of her better films

They have Ding Chengxin who is rumored to play Xie Lian and Zhang Linghe possibly as Hua Cheng.

I think they may have already cast HOB, just not saying officially who’s playing who. Filming was already scheduled to begin 2nd quarter 2021. Douban already has actors listed but not their roles

Agreed on the casting YWS. Whoever they choose will have to have the right amount of gravitas to bring to the role yet still effect a younger than 40 appearance. Shen Qiao will be easier to cast

Studios acquired rights to like 60 BL novels last year with plans of adapting them into either dramas, donghua or both

I read somewhere they were tweaking some technical aspects of the film. Idk how true but it seemed it had to do with some special effects

Although, the way the 2 MCs met and became involved with each other was awkward and felt like I was watching a live version of a web toon, I’ve got cavities from how sweet this story is. And I guess the main theme is about finding that person that was meant for you. Both characters are lonely AND alone. Their meeting is so “by chance,” and their pairing so unlikely, it must be fate. Sweet, sad and hopeful

It’s going to air on both the mainland Tencent and WeTV. The date is still up on douban. So until I see otherwise I’m mostly trusting the date of 4/8

All I know is after they spent so much money to make this series, they had better not have chickened out in production value or story interpretation.

If you know the whole story, it would be a suicide for them to make a real romance between MoRan and Shi Mei

People that have seen episodes (test viewers and reviewers) have said that they mostly stick to the source material and that the even though they cast a woman to play Shi Mingjing, there weren't a lot of scenes with her in the episodes they saw. They also said you can feel a lot of the angst of the couple and people should wait for the lines from Chu Wanning to MoRan that come straight from the book. It'll be interesting to see how they create the love story while working around censorship. We know from some of the photos they will show Chu Wanning as Taxian Jun's concubine or at least show him with his Chu-Fei look.

Yes he does! And honestly I think he's probably MXTX's most beautiful, lovable protagonist. Everyone should have someone that loves them the way he loves his man. Also, the donghua is just beautiful. The artwork, the incredible OST, attention to the source material and the way they just all out made it about the love story. Kudos to Haoliners and Bilibili for that.
