The production team said that Xu Kai was very cooperative and dedicated in this drama, and he even kept trying to build rapport with Ding Yongdai.

Xu Kai plays the main antagonist, but he’s the kind who gradually falls into the abyss—not a traditional villain. The drama doesn’t try to redeem or whitewash him.

You can understand his (Chen Hui’s) descent, but you won’t forgive him. There’s a moral grayness to his character, and it’s not the same type as typical crime-investigation suspense dramas.
