Title Against the Current Spoiler
If you consider how many episodes and hours they had to work with ... and the number of years that needed to be…
I understand needing a few time skips. However, there were TOO MANY towards the end and it felt frustrating to watch. For instance, the immediate time jump to them having kids. Like?? We skipped over a lot there. The pacing was really good throughout the beginning and middle of the series so I found it to be a bit disappointing.

Ugh, I just finished the drama and I’m a mess 🤧
It’s incredible and well thought out until the very end. Sometimes endings can feel a bit rushed, but in this drama we get to see each character have their own ending. I got the closure I needed, but man, I’m sad. I always cry watching dramas with about life or about the passage of time. Now that it’s over, I’ll be staring at a wall, stewing on these thoughts 😔

I feel so bad for Hans character. I didn’t want him to go like that. Did he pass in the female leads courtyard? 😭💔

I saw Li meng recently in a drama with Wallace chung (the epoch of minyu); she tends to be typecasted in these…
I think it’s my first time seeing her in a drama. She’s soo pretty and actually has great acting chops. I haven’t heard of The Epoch of Minyu but I’ll check it out. I hope to see more of her on screen :)

On another note, I really loved Tan Song Yuns acting here. It’s been a while since I saw her in a drama and she nailed it. Also, Li Meng ate up her role. She was so good

It's not really the focus of this drama. It's all about the lives of women at the time. But that cheek kiss was…
It was unrequited for a while 😂 I was actually worried she’d end up with Han for a while because they were getting along so well. Especially after he rescued her from the brothel.

I do think the girl they casted to play younger Seven doesn’t look anything like her but I don’t think Seven should’ve played her younger self. Someone who looks closer to her would’ve been nice but it’s okay since I got the gist

I get that. I went in somewhat blind, thinking it was a romance and not really knowing what to expect. I thought there would be a heavier focus on the main leads, but yes, it does center on the women of that time. I loved seeing many of the side characters too, but personally, I was hoping to see more of the main leads emotional connection built before the time skip

Person Seo Yea Ji
There are male korean actors with literal SA charges still working in the industry. We need her back on screen

Title The Red Sleeve Spoiler
I’ve had this show on my watchlist for so long. I couldn’t sit through the first 20 minutes because it felt slow. However, dramas like these start slow & take their time to build up. Once they do, man oh man, they’re phenomenal. The story has so much depth. I have just finished watching this for the first time in 2026, and while I’m late to the game, let me just say this, I truly missed seeing such storytelling and depth in Korean drama.

The story telling is amazing, however, I would not say it’s perfect. I’d give it an overall rating of 8.6 because there are a lot of loose ends. I still have so many questions left unanswered & the drama could’ve been longer to address this. There were some scenes that felt longer than needed, which used for clarity. What a shame…

I still have so many questions:
- What happened to concubine Hwabin?
- How many kids did the king have total while married to Seong Deok and the other women?
- How did Seong Deok die??

I’m having the hardest time sitting through this. I’m only on ep 5 but I’m struggling for some reason because I keep dozing off or zoning out having to replay scenes multiple times :(
might have to put this on pause

First off, the stylists on this show really deserve their flower’s because they were working overtime here. They delivered. Gorgeous outfits. Growing up, I loved online dress up games and whenever her outfits changed it would remind me of that. I really loved all the cameos. It was super fun to see all the familiar faces pop up.

In the beginning, I was not attached to the male leads character. He didn’t have much of a personality but towards the middle-last episodes he started to change, which was pleasant to see. I felt like because there were so many characters & storylines it was hard for them to build the character background & depth. I actually love that the main leads were NOT childhood sweethearts and that it was mature romance. Was it perfect? no. Was it entertaining? absolutely. I actually enjoyed the last episodes. They were pretty solid. Jisoos acting is not bad. At times, I saw that it was hard for her to convey a certain emotion but her acting really doesn’t warrant this much hate considering how there’s much worse. I think the hate she got was because of Newtopia? But I didn’t watch that.

Anyways, 8/10 the ending saved the show. VR was fun in the beginning but I cared more about reality. I think because there were so many side characters and cameos trying to be pushed into a 10 episode show they really sacrificed depth here, but it’s still a fun watch. Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion but I didn’t care for Mi-Rae’s friend, the second female leads character. She wasn’t a bad friend to her I just didn’t care for her.

**P.S. I kept thinking how crazy it would’ve been if Mi-rae jumped into the game and into the world for snowdrop to meet Jung Haein as a character there. That would’ve been fun sorta crossover/worlds colliding moment but I know it’s a stretch considering the different platforms, so I’ll take what I can get**

Perfect castings. Ahn Eun Jin and Dex have such a fun sibling dynamic. I loved how we saw close they became since the shoots were over the course of a few months. They all seemed to really care for one another. I thought it was weird how they kept trying to pair Dex with Go Minsi towards the end. There wasn’t a need for that. Ahn Eun Jin is literally variety show good. I wish she did more since it suits her so well

I think my favorite was the trip to Rwanda. It was so entertaining to watch. I wish the they were able to stay in the countries for a week instead of three days. i’m really surprised they didn’t pick the show back up for second season. Kinda disappointed.
