This movie is so criminally underrated whilst other movies/shows at MDL are overrated beyond (my) comprehension. I guess like they say: different people like different things.. "The Flowers of War" will immerse you in a dark (historical) setting and is indeed haunting and superb like the poster below pointed out. Even though the movie used fictional characters it gives you a clear and brutal view of this era when people were left (behind) at the mercy of an army full of war criminals and the conscience of a few good men/women who refused to just sit and watch these horrors unfold from the sidelines.

First 8 or 9 episodes were awesome, but afterwards it gets from bad to worse.
