I understand you. Like he wanted to live that phase and can't let go, so was creating puppets and only gave memories of that. He is just an innocent fox who is happy with little things. But once it gained conscience and started being it's own person, LS was afraid he was changing and these memories could affect him, so he cruelly cut that off. I was thinking about this from the time he showed the puppets. Jiling saying I'm unique and I'm jiling, triggered the consequent reaction in LS.
