I think due to the fact that this specific genre (historical fantasy) is very popular in China and has thus been produced there most among the East Asian countries, people can’t help but associate Alchemy of Souls with Wuxia/Xanxia. That is not necessarily a bad thing though. I am sure that Wuxia/Xanxia is generally a huge source of inspiration for producers of this genre. But I also think that Alchemy of Souls will have its distinctive style. As you already pointed out, the drama will most likely not contain Chinese philosophy and way of thinking. It looks very promising to me, I will certainly be watching this show :D

That’s so true! They accuse foreigners for their ignorance and tell them not to meddle in their history, but at the same time they are using German history to make their (made-up) point. That’s so ironic.
