Yep, and the constant implication seems to be that Kao is always correct, or this very generalised ‘well relationships are difficult’ kind of moral, but imo Kao just treats Pete like crap. How about Kao show some respect for Pete, and stop lying to him, because Pete seems be showing a reasonable level of restraint after he is constantly being provoked, and at the same time getting little support from his bf. I didn’t have to ‘come out’ because I have always been very forward in doing what I want- but I understand some people find it difficult- but I feel like Kao should have waited to have a relationship and come out first, cos he is just dragging Pete into his own mess because of his lack of confidence in himself and his relationship.

Even though there was the sound of only one body being hit, my very first impression about the ending was that they both died, given that Shin and Keng both gave final statements about understanding/regret. Shin wished he had been able to effectively communicate with Keng (after his shitty friend posted the photo that started all of the damaging rumors and behavior), and Keng obviously realized he should have listened more to Shin- I think both in initially giving him space after the dramas started, and in giving him space after the rape. I thought they both met to put an end to everything, after Shin had achieved what he wanted out of life. I may be way off, but I still think the open ending reminds us that the struggle and issues that you suffer mentally after this kind of ordeal, never truly end. I am so grateful for a show like this that shows how the effects of sexual assault- molestation or rape- can literally infiltrate every part of your life. Without giving too much context about myself, I truly appreciated the honest script and tone of this series.

I agree. I feel like a lot of the potentially much younger readers defended the novel because TharnType was such a highly anticipated series, so it is unfortunate that the dangerous msgs about justification and lack of consent (on at least three occasions in the novel that I can recall), now have to be ignored for people to enjoy the series. This romanticised non-con theme- particularly as the starting-off point to a lot of characters’ relationships- is common to this author’s books tho. The beginning of Kla and No’s novel was equally as terrible. I also think it’s dangerous to juxtapose one kind of molestation with another, and make one seem more ok because the character eventually came around, or because the other person is attractive. I hope the rest of the series does not give me the horrible feeling ep 1 did and that the writers/producers take more responsibility for their audience.

Never read the novel because it is so much worse in a following scene (I highly doubt it will be shown). Type is crying and saying no. Tharn tries to justify his behaviour later repeatedly with sickening logic. The author tries to romanticise the encounter when she is writing Type’s character as being traumatised. It was sick and gross. I don’t care how unpopular my opinion is on this one. I’m not the only one who stopped reading it. I hope the tv series improves, but I do love Mew and his acting as usual.

Haha I was wondering the same thing!! They blur drinks so often in Thai series, that I sort of just assumed that since the censorship around drinking seems to be quite strict, that the Gov might also have set a pretty high drinking age -limit. Hopefully a Thai person will see this and let us know what was going on! Loll

I think this series is probably best watched by people in the same age-bracket as the actors, because it is very cute and light-hearted and it definitely screams ‘teen series’. However, I don’t think that these are necessarily negative qualities. I wish that more people could appreciate the target audience a bit more when watching. I see it getting quite a bit of criticism across multiple forums, and it’s quite upsetting because this is sometimes why series get shut down and i think that sometimes fan’s expectations are a bit excessive. Especially when they are giving us a spin-off of lovesick! I think that the chemistry between the MC’s of each music club was very good in the second ep, and the relationships seem to be progressing at a good pace. Enjoy this show for the innocent youth feel. Maybe watch something else if you like a drama that’s a bit deeper or more dramatic.

I really enjoyed the first ep- it was sweet, and the actors seemed a little bit awkward and unassuming like their characters, which I think made them more believable :) HOWEVER, I think that this is one of those series that would do really well with a lot more episodes since there’s only 2 left! Extra eps would really help with a little more lead in to the gunshot scene, and also knowing a bit more about what Time’s life was like before he went to apologise to the MC. Someone sponsor this for a longer series XD I look forward to the next ep tho :)

Oh that’s true! I actually just rewatched the trailer, and Shin mentions that someone should taste what betrayal is like (soon after they showed his father) so maybe he does have issues with his dad too! I am looking forward to seeing this weird love triangle play out, but it can’t possibly end well for any of them XD lol.

I think he’ll recruit her, but I hope nothing happens to her then! I don’t want her to tragically die and then have it be classified as some ‘bittersweet’ ending because she may have got revenge or even learnt to live a good life by then. I am rooting for the bad guys in this series already lol. The non-criminal characters are equally as criminal and flawed now. I also don’t understand Shin’s preoccupation with Mew and Neo? Is he already in love with Neo? Frankly, I would think Shin was used to seeing his father and his henchmen kill people by now. What is his particular obsession with these two people, and now he is risking his own safety, I am a bit confused...

For a very important reason, I truly hope that we see a lot more of Too/Un’s dynamic in future BL’s, and i absolutely won’t be complaining if it is with White and Earth again. Too and An were both MASSIVE playboys in the novel- this was downplayed a lot in the series, because all of the gang except Third had too similar behaviours- so when there was the suggestion in the main part of the novel that Too and Un might be dating each other, I was so thrown (but excited) because they both had very similar energies and i was dying to see how these somewhat two very open and dominant characters would cope in a relationship together. Third and khai’s relationship was very seme/uke, but Too and Un really broke those moulds. The only time you get to see two equally aggressive in love type characters in a series, is when one of them has a serious sarcasm problem towards the other i.e. they are both very dominant characters, but one still starts out hating the other one (not the little sort of gripes Too had with Un for having to help with work lol). I have legitimately already seen a couple of comments about how Too and Un seemed weird together because they were both Seme, whilst I personally found that this was one of my favourite suprises in the novel, and even though they both seemed a lot softer in the series, their love and their characters seemed on an even playing field from the start. Why does only ONE character have to always be aggressively pursuing the other?

I am so used to watching a certain type of BL drama where in many circumstances, all of the (non-bl) side characters exist solely to create issues for the main couple. Gitae’s sister therefore, was like a breath of fresh air- driving home the themes of acceptance and understanding, and family (I really loved the photo shoot at the end) whilst bringing lightness to the series. I also had no idea that this was a low budget drama until I read some of the other comments. The cinematography was so good, and the acting was also very natural and realistic. I increased my rating based on the last two eps alone. I could feel Chisoo’s sort of temporary heartbreak, and then also the suspense when Gitae later went looking for him.

The blonde hitman was my favourite too! I looked him up and saw that he is also a singer, so maybe that is y he was only given a short role, or maybe he was just really good at playing the gangsta XD Can’t wait for the next ep alreadyyyy. Even if a lot of it was a bit clichè, it was so entertaining :)

Yep, that was pretty huge. Also no indication of Forth thinking Beam was attractive and charming before their makeout session either. I feel like a lot of the missing scenes were literally down to time restraints tho, and i also noticed the sort of censorship of ‘do me’ to let’s do it which sounds a bit less aggressive, so maybe it was just censorship again as the reason they left out a lot of Beam’s dialogue? The line i sorely missed, and it seems a lot of other ppl did too was ‘from this point forward I will chase Beam’. I feel like that was a statement very telling of Forth’s resilience and character in the book. Even still, I was very happy with what we got! I feel like all of the characters are a bit softer in the tv series and i’m really loving it :)

The lead actor is second to none. You could make about 50 memes from his facial expressions every episode. So, so many incredible things to say about this series <3

It got sort of cute and romantic lol esp cos of the music. It was always going to a bit hard to repeat some of the bed scene lines from the novel tho! XD

Thank you for saving me from watching the sequel lol. Those sound like the same gripes I would have about a plot, so i’ll just appreciate Gun in absolutely everything else XD
