I am here after for YJG after his TCC drama .... his acting chops along with IU best performance can turn this drama into a master piece .... *crossed fingers* that it will be good one.
I don't know but he seem to have a good eye for projects that really does well. Though the drama is based on an existing manga and had other dramas, this has a different take.... i hope it does well.
fingers crossed that it does well in its premiere... i honestly believe that yep jin goo can pull it off.... I dont know if it is his first rom com. but I wish him the best.
Casting him is a terrible choice? May I ask why you think so? Or did I misunderstand you?
First and foremost being selected and NOMINATED is itself an appreciation and evidence for his acting skills ..... he was selected among many skilled & talented actors for his character portrayal (I personally am happy to see Lee Byung Hun wining he is well rounded versatile actor). So yeah it is one of the proves that he is a good actor.
Second the comments that I showed were the evidences that you were looking for when you said the below line in your previous comment:
I just don't understand why he keeps getting cast in to roles he clearly can't pull off.
He'd pulled off the Crowned clown role both as a king & the clown so effectively that people were amazed by his performance. So yes those a clear cut evidences and yes they are many of those that praised him. You can have your opinion that if he didn't get you immersed in the drama then that be it but that does not mean he did not pull off that character. I f you actually dislike him then that is another story.
And ref to the below comment, "Not going to lie, this guy picks good roles with great stories which are right up my alley. I just wish he would pull off the roles better because it really sucks to lose out on great stories because of his bad acting"
The Crowned clown pulled off successfully with good ratings and top rated drama in the Monday-Tuesday time slot despite it being cable show and a lot lot of the reviews were based on his good acting as well on the good performance of Kim Sang-Kyung that also contributed in the drama. https://www.kpopmap.com/kdrama-ratings-dazzling-the-crowned-clown-haechi-item-3rd-week-of-feb/
So no your opinion is not being denounced in comparison to the MAJORITY but in no way should yours disregard his good obvious performance in that drama.
it's technically 20 ep, since each ep is only 35 mins long
Yeo jin goo have always picked dramas that have best story telling... like for example Circle & The Crowned Clown..... Let's wait for the drama and see for sure there is going to be fillers... besides it is not easy for a woman to fall in love with a robot.. say for example in 5 episodes she falls in love with him as if he is a human??.... that would be weird....

following is the comments (of many similar comments for every episode) from naver for your good reference on his acting skills based on his recently finished drama "The Crowned Clown" and I would personally recommend you for the comment number 3:
1. [+2075,-31] Yeo Jin Goo is really post-Lee Byung Hun. As an actor.. He is from a different class compared to the other actors in their 20s.
2. [+1590,-11] They are the same actor, but both characters don't feel like it. Yeo Jin Goo taking up 2 roles at once is impactful and amazing... Yeo Jin Goo who is great at acting is really cool.
3. [+1125,-8] How can both characters be so different...? Yeo Jin Goo is really of a different class. Thanks to him, I was able to get immersed in the drama... the story development is different from the movie, so I'm curious about it.
7. [+208,-1] Yeo Jin Goo's acting skills are daebak. I'm amazed every time I watch it.... Possessing that kind of acting skill at that age, I'm speechless.
8. [+202,-7] Yeo Jin Goo who is just a little over 20 years old has completely erased Lee Byung Hun who is 50 years old~~~ Now that Boyfriend has ended and SKY Castle is ending, it's sad... Fortunately, I have this drama.

wow .... I guess you have not heard.... he was nominated for "Best Actor" in Baeksang Arts Awards among other renowned actors like...hmmm ... LEE BYUNG HUN... which by the way acted in the movie Masquerade 2012 (basically the same story line as crowned clown but they successfully made the crowned clown drama completely unique form the movie)
