Yeah I get but I kinda wanted her to kill him herself because that would’ve been the most devastating way for him to die and for her to finally get her revenge herself. I also agree with what you said about tying up loose threads in the end that’s why I still like the cdrama despite yixiao not having much screentime

I understand that he has reasons as well but if we compare he should be the FL’s worst enemy he tried to kill her, was the reason her closest brother also tried to kill her and as wu ying revealed he lied about closing down the death camps where she was tortured to manipulate her into obeying him and instead was using them again for his own goals. Now I’m not saying the ML had no right but that was her only storyline/ revenge arc and they took it and made it for the ML to complete as his own revenge

Just finished this and I’ve got to say I loved it I loved yixiao she was everything to me. If I had to nitpick something I would say that I didn’t like how she took a back seat towards the end it kinda became feng suige’s show they didn’t even acknowledge the fact that she said she would take revenge and they didn’t let her kill the person who shot her off a cliff and had the ML do it instead even though she had more history and reason to kill him than ML. But other than that a solid cdrama that I thoroughly enjoyed, and unexpectedly xia jingyan my hidden fav of the show my shayla 😭

I’m on ep 12 and I feel like nothing is happening so far just a pity fest for the ml and the fl has somehow become so enamored with LSL that there is nothing else going on for her. Also might just be my opinion but I feel like the writers are pushing this narrative that FL cares so much for the citizens to make her more likable to both MLs even though realistically she knows she’s in a script so this weird concern for people seems far fetched she doesn’t act like she’s in a script anymore which takes away from the fun part of the show. The fun in “I transmigrated to a book” trope is the lack of concern for anything other than death cuz you think nothing here is real and usually they’re trying to think of a way out But this just might be my cruel opinion 😭

Yeah I think you’re right, I truly didn’t want to believe she still doesn’t trust ML😭 but that’s the overall issue but that’s so stupid if she still trusts the words of the chancellor over ML then she’s does not deserve him. At every slight inconvenience she doesn’t trust him and I think this far along it just doesn’t work in her favour I can’t relate to her as a viewer. And I’m also stuck at ep 18 I couldn’t finish anymore cuz I’m slowly starting to dislike her

I’m on ep 18 now and I’ve been enjoying this drama until this ep. I can’t quite understand why the FL is upset at ML for that long for? Does she blame the ML for not allowing her to see her father before he died or does she blame him for not saving him? Either way her character was written so that she can connect enough dots to see that it’s not his fault. She would be extremely childish to vent out her grief at him for the simple fact that she thinks he didn’t save her father, I know they signed a contract but you can’t expect him to do anything more she already saw him in his office sleep deprived and trying to help, they show her being upset with ML more than the chancellor who “killed” her father. This coupled with the fact that her father is probably alive and ML is hiding it the drama is slowly becoming unbearable. Though I feel bad for ML I think it’s stupid for him to hide it for her that long and continue to get his feelings hurt. I just can’t grasp what hurt she is feeling from ML. This being said I will continue on cuz I loved this drama otherwise!

Would anyone recommend this for someone who doesn’t enjoy xianxia that much? Cuz I’m thinking of watching this but I’ve dropped too many cdramas of the same genre

This drama was an 8 for me until the last episode what the hell was that? It was like the writers transported me to another drama for 30 minutes for absolutely no reason. All of sudden a war zone and getting kidnapped by rebels all so they can have a conversation? They couldn’t make them meet in a cafe by accident? This was an absolute abomination I had to stop the last episode for a couple of minutes just to make sure I wasn’t dreaming and honestly I couldn’t stop laughing it was so unserious that she followed him to a war zone and he happened to be the one to save her . Also the reason he left her made no sense idk what they were trying to do but it did not work. I’m so upset so much potential only for me to only be able to remember this drama by the ridiculous 30 minutes of randomness in the last episode.

The drama was good but I do have to say that they made the whole Satan plot line so dangerous and made him out to be some being that so many demons are looking for only for her to be able to kill him in less than 30 minutes and so easily. The whole ending seemed a bit rushed in my opinion even the serial killer I had already guessed it was the brother but he also went down kinda anticlimactically.

Last two episodes left me so confused but I’m happy she went back to her real life I was worried she would stay and that would’ve kinda thrown off the whole plot for me cuz she still has her whole life back in the real world and her mom. The ending was kinda disappointing and interesting at the same time I never would’ve guessed who the author was I’m only disappointed that it seemed a bit rushed they left 8 minutes to conclude the whole thing which seems thoughtless really. But overall I really loved everything about the drama it was good and interesting and the chemistry between ziqi and maiomaio was so good I didn’t notice that there was no kiss!

I’m so in love with shu xin she truly embodies every character she plays and she’s so cute irl as well 🥹

Yeah it is but the story was enjoyable in my opinion but if the whole it was just a dream plot is not your cup of tea then you can stop watching at ep 29 or otherwise you wouldn’t enjoy

Just finished this today and yall were not lying about the crying cuz I cried so much my eyes turned red at some point I was screaming at my screen and begging for the writer not to kill yuan Lu and then he died I was not the same person after that. For some reason I was sooo invested with the shisan and princess jin romance even though it lasted for a second and they didn’t do it justice but I was crying so much when he died I wanted moreeeee. The main leads death did not affect me the same way the other four did it was like actual pain in my chest when they died but after that I kinda saw it as mercy for ning to die as he had basically lost everyone and when he did it was a mercy for ruyi to die as well so I was happy with the ending. Ep 35 onwards though were pure pain and agony I don’t regret watching this as it was a masterpiece but never again!

I have half a mind to give this a zero (but it’s too good) only for the time wasted at the end the least they could’ve done is given us some hua qian and zhong xiwu scene at the end. I read spoilers from the comments and already knew it was gonna be a dream but I thought it was gonna be similar to kunning palace in the sense where she was in the future but this was so cruel that it was her dreaming after the consequences of her actions and that she didn’t fix anything. I didn’t mind the it was all a dream plot twist it had a good message but it was only the lack of fl and ml scenes that got me they could’ve at least given us a hug 😭 still a really good drama I loved it

I think I might be one of the few people who loved drama till the end. I understand the cliche break up and end up together in the last minute is overdone and takes away from the story and to some extent I agree with this as in ep 12 haeyoung’s story kind of got sidelined but I understand why she let him go. I was acc hoping that she would ji uk was living his life based on others promises for so long it became his norm and he was going to consider her an obligation as well if they didn’t take a break and have him explore his options and see his family. She even said if I didn’t let him go I would want him to comfort me and support me and even though she might try her best not to lean on him too often and rely on him without consideration she would because if someone is willing to let you do something you’ll get used to it without seeing the effect it has on the other. If he didn’t leave to find himself for a while I feel like he would consider her another promisee he had to keep and that is not healthy. I feel like if the drama was a little longer this might have been established better. This is all my interpretation of it anyway but I loved it so much 10/10 for me!

Finally finished this drama and I’ve been watching it as it comes out and let me warn y’all if you wanna watch this you need to hydrate cuz the way I was sobbing you’d think I knew these characters in real life, but I think that just shows how well written and how well the actors conveyed these characters honestly namkoong min never disappoints and eun jin was soooooooo good I honestly continued watching just because of her character I fell in love with gil chae and how when it mattered she grew up and took charge and saved many lives if you think about it I was loved the immature and arrogant side that we saw in the beginning of the drama it truly portrayed her as a real person rather than a typical drama character. This last episode was a roller coaster I was cursing the writer then begging them then cursing again and then thanking it’s truly not for the weak and as someone else wrote here I went through the whole 5 stages of grief during this whole drama as well and especially the last episode 😭. Though truly this a master piece for me I loved every second and it constantly kept me at the edge of my seat I think I’ll cherish this drama for a long time! I recommend watching it! Idk if this counts as a spoiler so I’m not putting a spoiler warning for now but if anyone feels that it is please let me know!!!

I have one complaint about this drama and one only. It’s the fact that the serial killer was starting to become really obvious after the festival episode it’s like they purposely investigated everyone and left out the one that could be the killer. Like first the shaman was one of the first people to know that ye bun had powers cuz she told him and second he was there in the night of the shooting star and no one questioned it and third he lived with seon woo so that means when detective moon chased the killer and he disappeared near the house there were supposed to be two people moon suspected seon woo AND the shaman and fourth when seonwoo was killed why did everyone conveniently forget that both ye bun and the shaman were there like even ye bun herself didn’t question where the shaman went even when she was being suspected and you could say they were tricked by the shaman lying down after with blood on his face but even when seon woo has an alibi the detective still suspected him why did they make an exception for the shaman??? like the reveal was not so shocking to me cuz at some point I just started screaming ITS THE SHAMAN GODDAMNIT but I have to hand it to them the sunglasses thing was smart I didn’t predict that! ALSO SEON WOO DIDNT NEED TO DIE 😭

I’m going to start watching this because of my journey to you. I couldn’t get over Ryan in that drama and I felt I needed more of him!! Hopefully I enjoy it!
