Here are my thoughts that literally no one asked for! Mon is one of the most irritating characters. I find myself…
I don't like how people keep on focusing on KS and not caring much about Mon. She is a complex character herself, and even more interesting than KS tbh. They both are new to relationship, never dated anyome before. It's no surprise that they would be childish in the relationship. And Sam isn't used to these emotions. Mon may be more emotionally mature and she needs to crack down Sam's an inability to express. She can't "completely" give in to what Sam wants and has to be a challenge to Sam so she can realize her consequences of her actions. Mon makes a mistake but Sam made more mistakes than she did. Yet, she isn't irrirgating as Mon? That doesn't make sense.
This episode taught me that communication, honesty and trust are the biggest key to the relationship. Sam and Mon did a mistake. Mon needs to stop being too nice to people. She can be too impressionable with people in that way and may end up justifying her wrongful actions by lying. Sam needs to resolve her trust issues. She never received unconditional love from her grandma, it's evident that she can be paranoid about the trusting. She need to apologise to Mon. Mon also need to tell her the truth about Nita amd Kirk.
I think you're being a tad too generous here. These themes might be present in the show to some degree, but I…
Don't get me started...I'm really mad at author. Look at twitter. I can't, but I'm totally done with author. Gap novel is reallllllyyyy bad and series is 100 times better.
Worst GL author ever. Too much heteronormativities, unneccesry sexual actvities and childish conflicts in Gap novel. Gap 2 hasn't improved yet. It's like wattpad. Im sorry, but series got better scriptwriters. Director, himself, has good visions of love scenes.

If I'm being honest, book isn't really good with character developments for both of Sam and Mon individually. But they softened Sam in the series (she was even colder, meaner and tougher in the beginning. She literally humilated Mon in the workplace during dissimal scene instead of firing and "24 hours thingy." She and Mon also still hasn't bridged the gap of social class based on novel's epilogue. Even birthday scene where Sam gave lip balm was worse in the book. Idk if my interpretation is wrong.) They also made Mon stronger and less naive. Mon in the book, was slow-witted. This series switched from royalty to classism. Novel touched on royalty but series is touching on classism more. I can see how are things going with that. Episode 7 specifically explored the miscommunication issue. Power dynamics will come into subject later. It's not just that but age gap is also important thing to remember and it do play a part in their dynamics. I'm looking forward to how they portray it and deal with it. I like changes they made from the novel but I'm somewhat concerned about how rushed is it. I don't think Mon completely gave in to what Sam wants. In my opinion, she's even harder to read than Sam because she plays "double game." I rewatched all previous episodes...I noticed something interesting about Mon. She's capable of reading Sam's emotions accurately but that doesn't mean she should stress over interpreting her. That's why she made an agreement for her to be straightforward. It's a good first step to eliminate Sam's games. Novel also drive into Mon's shyness. So Mon's game starts here. She made an agreement because she knew what Sam want and she exactly want it too but she's too shy and wants Sam to make it happen. Hopefully, she will be less shy later and make a move.
I've noticed that some people fail to understand the point of this episode 7 and series. "Gap the series" has multifaceted meaning behind it; it covers all sorts of "gaps" such as power differences, personality, idolization, miscommunication, patriarchy, age, arranged marriage, homophobia and social class. That's what plotlines are focusing on and eliminating each gap as time goes.
Now, episode 7 is all about Sam waking up to a harsh reality about her miscommunication and Mon walking up to the truth about her idolization. Sam deserved to hear what Mon said about her miscommunication and impulsivity. Becky did act well as Mon, i know her crying scenes seems exaggerated or fake. She actually did it for real and is still new to it but this series is intentional with exaggeration. Freen did portray Sam's desparation and fear of losing Mon very well.
