Perhaps people just use extremes when talking to counteract the extreme "best romantic couple ever" type statements. Since it seems a bit ridiculous to say there is literally NO feelings/passion/etc
I mean even if you don't feel like the chemistry is there acting wise there are still things being said that bluntly points out their feelings and status. Sure they might not see them as romantic, but who cares? Pat/Pran are in a relationship as boyfriends and that can't be argued. Yeah, I used to get annoyed when people said something about Japanese actors in a show . . . and I was like 'bro they are acting that way on purpose'. Either when complaining about "over the top" acting or them not noticing the subtle details--which I think is a misunderstanding of the culture they weren't a part of. Kind of like how some thought Thai sniff kisses where weird and didn't understand it.
But if you look at the Pat/Pran situation as proof the show is showing a different type of loving relationship I think it's great~
