i made both of my sisters watch drama. it's safe to say that I've succeeded in converting them into addicts :). all what it took was a bet with money on the line. i bet them that if they watched only two episodes of a drama (it was you're beautiful) they will be completely hooked. they on the other hand made fun of me and accepted what they referred to as "easy money" 10 episodes later they both come to me crying coz of the infamous jeremy scene while i was smirking at my full wallet >.<
me too, the first dramas I've watched explained these words and now Ive become more accustomed to the language. For example Hana Yori Dango if the dubber didn't note that Tsukusa keeps on messing his Kanji and what the hell Kanji is I wouldn't have understood why they keep on laughing at him, and this quirk in Tskusa is one of the reasons I sympathised with him. If i didn't understand that i probably wouldnt have liked him so much.
I hate it when i can tell that it's a critical scene and then BAM subtitles disappear for like 2 minutes and I'm there like what is going on?! :'(
Im still waiting for Rockin' On Heaven's door to be subtitled. it's an eternal pain.
